Russell Wilson, the guy he is compared to the most went in the 3rd round.

Murray has played a single NCAA season, Russell Wilson played 4 seasons between NC State and Wisconsin.

Then people bring up Baker Mayfield, who also played 4 seasons of college football and is a superior passer.

Arizona Cardinals are about to make the Ryan Leaf pick of 2019.

Baker is not a superior passer to Murray.

so what does Baker does superior to Murray? Bc it will be hard pressed for Kyler to make a similar impact as Baker did in year 1...

1-1 has to change your franchise. It just has to like Baker did

and kyler had a higher rating.

My point is only that the passing differences are extremely marginal unlike how the OP portrayed the statement.

Might have the shortest reach in NFL history.

He’s short.

He’s already the biggest reach in MLB draft history.

Might as well make it two sports while he’s at it

What I don’t understand is how he can go #1 overall or fall pretty far if not taken at that spot.

The QB position is SO important in the NFL that I don’t get how a guy can drop like that.

What does that have to do with anything?

Because you have to do what Oklahoma did to make Murray work, you have to design your entire offense around him. Outside of Kingsbury, who is going to do that? No one, because they like their jobs.

it has everything to do with everything. are you fricking retarded? do you not understand how QB stats tend to progress from their sophmore to junior to senior years?

that's what happens when it's said one organization/coach really loves you

IIRC, Jeff George was considered a huge reach, and only the Colts were interested in drafting him that high. He wasn’t a highly coveted pick, especially not trading like the Colts did to take him #1 overall. I could be remembering that wrong though.

He certainly looks like it with the naked eye.

Oh ok. So if a guy draws comparisons to Tom Brady, does that mean he shouldn’t be touched till the 6th round?

No. Even if Kyler sucks the Cardinals will receive 4 yrs, minimum, of publicity.

That publicity will outweigh what they pay him as the #1 pick.

No one goes to see a football game because of a DT. Sorry.
