This is a great coaching job this year but you can't turn Minnesota into a perennial Big 10 power in this day and age.

Why? It’s a big state school, in the heart of a big city, nice campus, plenty of resources, in an average division, etc.

You could say the same for USC but with much better weather.

USC isn’t a state school.

Comparing location of the U to USC. Lol

LOL if you think he would turn down USC because of the location of the campus.

Why are people playing dumb here? USC is a superior program to Minnesota.

What’s your point? With a good coach, USC is a powerhouse.

Minnesota has the ability to be a perennial Big 10 power with the right coach. That’s what I responded too.

The area around campus is being gentrified.

Minny a huge school with massive resources; he can make that a top 10 or 15 job.

Minnesota taxes are nothing to sneeze at, either; they may not be California, but they sure as heck aren't Texas or Florida.

That’s not what I said.

We aren’t. You are. You can’t say USC is the same when the poster listed things.

You can say they aren’t important. You can say USC is a great job. But you can’t say it is in the heart of the city and that it is a state school.

True

massive resources

Not true. Or rather they haven’t spent on athletics till very recently. And it was a massive effort just to get what puts them at best in the middle of the 10.

southern California high school football produces more high end players.

Its easier to recruit because private school.can accept anyone the ncaa will.
Minnesota is competing with ohio, pennsylvania, and not now but eventually new jersey.

He could turn them into Wisconsin. Similar schools
He's not going to get an offer anytime soon of a school that can expect to exceed that (I guess Auburn or Fla State are possible).
I'm assuming that Minny is in the game - they'll pay coaches market value, etc.
