Eh take rumors for what they are
I remember last summer when there were rumors flying that Atlanta might snag CP3 and Dwight

Yes he's going to re-sign

D'Antoni is out and Phil is back

Either way they have to pay a luxury tax.

Plus they signed a 3billion dolla TV contract so no worries about that

They are setting up to make a run at LBJ after Pau and Kobes contracts expire

LBJ will get a Kia Commercial

So a Houston fan thinks he's going to Houston, a ATL fan thinks he's going to Atlanta, and a Laker fan thinks he's staying put.

Oh you'd hear about him, once CP3 comes to Atlanta.

Don't know what you're talking about, CP3 is coming back to New Orleans

Omer Asik, picks, and players to LA for a sign and trade of Dwight Howard.

Why on earth would Houston give up so much for an unrestricted FA?

Not saying he will sign in Houston, but that is the team that some of the "experts" believe has the best chance at him if he leaves LA. Personally I think he has been miserable as a Laker but that's a lot of money to pass up on.

Would you still take Dwight over Rondo?

So you think he doesn't have a chance at going home where he'll be a basketball God?

only thing I can think of is if Dwight insists on a sign and trade to get the 5th yr. but parting with Asik might be a bit much, they could do a sign and trade without including him.

It's either LA or Houston. People don't realize how attractive Houston is for an NBA player. Houston would give him a big market without big market media. It's basically a win-win, just with slightly less money. (No, he wouldn't be leaving $30 million on the table. That's an exaggerated figure based on 1 year less, which he'd get on his next contract.)

I'm not sure that works anymore with the new CBA. Also, Houston has to drop some cap to get another max contract. Still I could see them dropping Asik, players, or picks, but not Asik, players and picks. Way too much for a guy they can sign outright by doing a small salary dump trade.

Why is everyone so sure CP3 wont resign with the clippers? With OKC's resent troubles they could easily make it to the Conference finals and possibly the NBA finals and get bitch slapped by MIA.

Fans would pack Phillips Arena to see Dwight play for his home town so yes Atlanta can also be a big market without all the media craze

I was hoping someone would do a thread for Lakers fans asking for answers with what to do with the following:

Kobe: keep with present contract, amnesty, or try to sign a new deal?

D'antoni: keep, extend, or release?

Pau: keep, trade, or extend?

DH: sign or let go without a fight?

Why Dwight or CP3 leave LA

Especially Paul.

And your a fool if you don't think the Lakers are gonna make a real strong run at LBJ
