If Barry Bonds retired after the 2000 season, he would have finished with more HRs than Lou Gehrig, top 50 all time in stolen bases, 8 Gold Gloves, 3 MVPs, 2 MVP runner ups, and a higher WAR than Mickey Mantle.
That's easily a first ballot HOFer and on the short list of all time great players even when you don't include any of his 2001-2004 numbers.

Rpse should absolutely need to be out of the HOF.
1. He broke the one rule that is posted in EVERY professional baseball clubhouse
2. He is still not off the suspended list
3. While I hate the baseball writers for many reasons, this may be the only time they've actually done something right
