The game was much more pleasing to watch in the late 70's early 80's because of the varied styles of play
Yeah because the battles between Nadal/ Federer/ Djokovic weren't pleasing....
Federer's signature through the leg saves were just so boring...

I'm talking about aesthetics not the popularity of the game
I promise it was more aesthetically pleasing to watch the 3 greatest tennis players of all time compete against each other.
Then again its absolutely pointless to argue with a bunch of old men that actually watched tennis in the 50's-70's. You are talking about 50-70 y/o that made up their mind about "the greatest era of tennis" before guys like Nadal/ Federer/ Djokovic were born.

Not at all peak human physicality
What an idiot. It takes insane levels of fitness, unbelievable eye-hand coordination, years of hours a day training, and incredible mental toughness to play top ten men’s tennis.

What evidence are you using when making this statement? Not saying you’re wrong, but I feel like the loss of parity is evidence against your statement.

Rackets, strings, and resulting changes in the courts made it boring. Nothing but baselines now. Borg and Connors were baseliners but they could serve and volley pretty well too.
Not to mention the personalities are blander like in NASCAR

What evidence are you using when making this statement?
All of those things are measured to determine popularity of the game.
