Why would Ohio St deserve to get in over OU?

I’ve seen some talk about OSU jumping Oklahoma after this past weekend and I don’t get it at all.

If both win Saturday, OU will have avenged it’s only loss (a much better loss). SOS is pretty similar. S&P favors OU. Strength of record favors OU. Point differential favors OU slightly.

Outside of the best win favoring Ohio State by a little, what will they have done to deserve getting in over OU? One win over Michigan shouldn’t negate their poor play the rest of the season.

That wasn't a best win by a little. OSU beat a team in the playoff picture by 3 possession, and kneeled at the 5 yard line to end the game. That blows away any win by OU.

OU's best game isn't as good as OSU's best game. If you want the 4 best teams, then the win over Michigan should be convincing.

OU has been pretty blah a lot of the year too. Gave up 40 to Kansas, and was in dog fights with Okie St. and Tech, who are both around .500. All 3 of those games happened in the past month as well.

I think it's a very close call

Because Urban vs Saban and because OSU has somewhat of a pulse on defense. The game won't be close regardless of who gets in

It's not but whatever helps you sleep at night

Once ou is ranked above osu on Tuesday this discussion is over anyways

OU doesn't play defense

They're last in almost every category for a top 10 team

I think if we played Purdue close and lost we might have an argument...but there is no way in hell we deserve to get in over OU with their credentials with the way we got beat by Purdue.

I mean people paid to discuss this say it will be close, and a good number have OSU in over OU

It wouldn't be close if OU had the just even the 100th ranked defense in Ncaaf.
But it's bottom ten in the whole country. shite, air is better.

But Kyler Murray and Purdue will be the deciding factor in the end barring a 2014 Wisconsin-type beat down on Saturday against Northwestern

An OU close win (and 50+ given up to Texas) as well as an Ohio State dominating win against Northwestern would eventually push Ohio State past OU

Just a prediction though

I don't think OU has beaten anyone with a pulse

Let's just wait and see how this weekend plays out. Oklahoma is having to play a team that already beat them.

Lol reading that article puts nearly every statistical advantage in favor of ou

Only reason anyone stated "Ohio State" was clearly for clickbait

Looks like they fooled you

A team with a 30 point loss to a 6-6 team has zero business getting into the playoff if Oklahoma avenges their only loss this weekend. If they lose, you're probably in by default, but that's the only scenario.

You can spew whatever narrative you want, but there's no way it happens.

I would pick OU. It's funny how before Sat, OSU was being very overlooked. Now after the win, they're being highly overrated Michigan did not match up well with OSU, but that doesn't mean OSU is better than OU. I think OU runs up and down the field on OSU.

Every stat is close, which was the entire point of the article. You said it wasn't a close debate at all.

OSU has far and away the best win, and it's recent. May tip the scales.

I said it would be close, and had no idea how the committee will decide. You said it wouldn't be close

It won't be

The media might attempt to make a big deal about the decision but in reality it's not even a debate

Neither does a team with a 104th ranked defense

We were literally a 2 pt conversion away from OU not being in this debate at all

They are not a CFP deserving team. I would take a 2-loss Georgia team over OU

OU offense vs. Bama would be fun to watch, admittedly.

of course as a Texas fan I hope they don't get the chance.
