re: Why wasn't there ONE left handed QB in the NFL 2019? Last lefty that started was 2015

then statistically 6.4 of them should be lefties. As that's not the case, it's obviously based on other factors besides just lefties being more rare.

Thank you sir.

Have no idea how multiple posters couldn't
understand this point. And the amount of lefties in the NFL has always been statistically higher than the last 5 years over the last 60 years.

Nah, it’s exactly how it works.

You’re assuming talent is evenly distributed when it’s randomly distributed.

I believe the last left-handed person to throw a touchdown pass in the NFL was a wide receiver or running back.

That makes no fricking sense.

Are you trying to say that a smaller percentage of people that happen to be left-handed get blessed with the talent to be an NFL QB than right-handed people? Even with a random distribution of talent there should be some left-handed QBs, unless other factors are in play.

In theory though, what you're saying is right. There should be 6.4 people in the world that are both left-handed and talented enough to be an NFL QB... so why has it been 6 or so years since we've seen one?

That’s Gamblers fallacy though.

That's the question posed in the article and 3 GM's really didn't have an answer.

Elway thought MLB or baseball in general was perhaps snatching up potential lefties
Some other theories as well and there seems to be less at the CFB level as well.

No, that would be a GM drafting a lefty QB really high because we haven't seen a good one in a while.

Sort of like the Dolphins did.

Lot harder for a lefty at 2nd to turn a 5/6-4-3 double play or to throw a batter out on a ground ball hit to his right.

Harder???... hell probably impossible in the Majors I would think

It's a different catch for WR.

Spin is different, and players aren't used to it. They are used to the spin from a righty, which they grew up catching since kids.

I remember 2 College Wr's talking about the difference in the 2 qb's the team had, with one a lefty and others righty
