This is a valid thesis. The south has grabbed control of college football. The only hope for the non south is a resurgent USC from the west. In the north all the traditional powers are down except for OSU. Michigan, Notre Dame, Nebraska and Penn State have work to do. I believe having some balance regionally makes college football much more interesting.

I think most of us hate the rest of the conference, but we're still in the conference. It isn't about liking the other teams in the league. It bothers the frick out of the rest of the country. I witnessed Clemson fans dig in and concede to staying until the bitter end. Then the dome erupted into an SEC chant and the group in front of me got up and walked out like they were being drug on a leash. It kills them, and frick 'em. We're still the best league in the country and that eats the rest of them up

As an LSU fan, I don't give a shite about the rest of the SEC. I hope they lose every bowl game.

Conference pride is complete bullshite and has been very counterproductive especially in a conference where Bama wins a frick ton.

frick the rest of the SEC.

That’s not it works Cochise. The money comes from TV deals and the SECN. It wasn’t less last year because Clemson won.

Here this article breaks it down, the ACC and B1G made more on bowls this season and the teams in the playoff get $6M each but for the SEC the largest share goes to the teams that are in the playoffs

Oklahoma fans were doing a mock SEC chant when they went up 21-7 on Georgia.

How did that go for ya, Sooner fans?

You really believe Nebreska isn't "down" right now?

Also, the fact that you don't mention Mich St is comical.

I really find it odd that the OP is an LSU fan that wants to claim "Conference Pride". Bizarre.

Congrats on the consolation prize, though.

I think the commish is alright with an all SEC national championship as a consolation prize. Northwestern was a “good” B1G team and was on par with Kentucky. In what world is having the last two teams standing a consolation prize? Congrats on mediocrity

Or maybe because it's retarded as shite to be cheering for teams that you directly recruit and compete against on a yearly basis to win championships that make them look better than your team.

There's a reason the south lacks behind everyone in education

Where do you think the term "Florida speed" came from? It evolved to "SEC speed" later.

7-1 > 4-5

at Northwestern being a "good" team. They were maybe the 6th best team in the conference this year. Little better than Kentucky, and they won as they should have, after their starting QB went down with an injury.

Also at "last two teams standing."

As a LSU alumnus, I find the SEC chant pretty retarded. I mean I don't like LSU being that closely associated with Miss State, Auburn, Arkansas, Missouri, and TAMU.

Plus, I think it's only Alabama fans who get off on chanting SEC, SEC, SEC, and folks from other conferences don't chat PAC 12, ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, and AAC. It just makes us look like slack-jawed yokels.

What an interesting thing to say today, when you said the below yesterday. This all SEC final just has you all out of sorts

To the only good team they played.

Wisconsin beat Iowa. By a lot. Beat Northwestern and Florida Atlantic, too
