The better question is why they still play this at the Cramton Bowl instead of Alabama State’s brand new stadium a mile away.

I went. What a miserable atmosphere. Cold, lethargic crowd, and being In Montgomery, AL didn’t help anything.

Crampton Bowl had some recent renovations (don’t know if you were aware or not) a few years back. It’s actually a decent stadium now and seems to be the right size (not too big). There were some empty seats on the MTSU side.

Cramton Bowl is probably in a better location. They just did major renovations recently. Fans don't all have to sit on one side of the field. The city owns Cramton Bowl so they don't have to worry about the mess that is Alabama State. Probably safer to walk to Cramton Bowl than to Alabama State.
