That midget is a true freshman, I think.
And what blew me away was how they would continuously bring a slot receiver in motion and use him to block down on the DE, freeing up the tackle to release downfield.
I never saw them adjust to that. And the slot receiver was sometimes the freshman back's brother, if I'm not mistaken.

FWIW, Bamer losing to UF is MUCH MUCH MUCH more respectable than the allmight condoms losing to OSU... Just sayin...

What was the Pac-10's record against the MWC?

You obviously can't run with the bigguns.
Ohio State was your only opponent and they have proved to only be a big gun to Big Ten teams. Oregon is average, Oregon State is average, Arizona had its first good year in a long time and we are calling 7-5 a good year for them, CAL is on the decline and the rest of your confence was below 500. Alabama played alot more teams than USC can brag about.

Why are they ranked above Penn State which crushed Oregon State?

Head to head matchups are irrelevant, oh except for the title game. See OU vs Texas 2008.

Simply b/c one team lost to naother team that someone else beat, does not mean that someone else is ranked higher. If that were the case, quite a few teams woudl be ahead of Florida. That is not how it works.
But as always, gotta love the fascination with USC here.

Thanks for the laugh! Considering Bama's killer schedule was ranked below USC's, your "expert" opinion is about as useful as a lifeboat in the desert.
To bring a bit more substance and objectivity to this, let's say any team with a losing record is Below Average; any team with 6 or 7 wins is Average; any team with 8 or 9 wins is Good; any team with 10 or 11 wins is Very Good; any team with more than 11 wins is Excellent.
Also any wins versus FCS (Div-1AA) will be noted and subtracted from total win count. This will also be accounted in overall SOS.
Let's see:
Clemson: Average 7-5 (W: 1 AA) 6-5
Tulane: Below Average 2-10
Western Kentucky: Below average 2-9 (W: 2 AA) 0-9
Arkansas: Below Average 5-7 (W: 1 AA) 4-7
Georgia: Good 9-3 (W: 1 AA) 8-3
Kentucky: Below Average 6-6 (W: 1 AA) 5-6
Ole Miss: Average 8-4 (W: 1 1-AA) 7-4
Tenn: Below Average 5-7 (W: 1 AA) 4-7
Arkansas St: Below Average 6-6 (W: 1 AA) 5-7
LSU: Average 7-5 (W: 1 AA) 6-5
Miss St: Below Average 4-8 (W: 1 AA) 3-8
Auburn: Below Average 5-7 (W: 1 AA) 4-7
Florida: Excellent 12-1 (W: 1 AA) 11-1
SOS (with Florida): 72nd
64-66 Cumulative (.492)
Subtract 13 1-AA= 51-66 (.392)
USC
Virginia: Below Average 5-7 (W: 1 AA) 4-7
Ohio St: Good 10-2 (W: 1 AA) 9-2
Oregon St: Good 8-4
Oregon: Good 9-3
Arizona St: Below Average 5-7 (W: 1 AA) 4-7
Wazzou: Below Average 2-11 (W: 1 AA) 1-11
Arizona: Average 7-5
Wash: Below Average 0-12
Cal: Good 8-4
Stanford: Below Average 5-7
Notre Dame: Average 6-6
ucla: Below Average 4-8
USC SOS 70th
64-65 Cumulative
Subtract 4 1-AA= .472
Bowl Teams: Bama 6; USC 6
BCS Bowl Teams: Bama 1; USC 1
Games vs. Non-BCS schools: Bama 3; USC 0
Home Games: Bama 7; USC 6
Vegas Odds on winning '09 BCS Game: USC 2/1; Bama 5/2
BTW (UF 7/5; Oklahoma 9/5)

Good post Trojan Ace, but you've got to call Ole Miss a "good" team if you're going to apply that label to Oregon State.

Ole Miss should be "good" according to your criteria.
fwiw, i though bama played a VERY weak schedule this season and was a major reason why they were undefeated. The SEC was down, they didn't play UF in the reg season, and Clemson was in turmoil this year. If they were to play UF again with Harvin healthy, the score would be much uglier.
But, USC's schedule was also pretty weak and they should not be in consideration for the title game when other teams with the same record played tougher schedules.

meanwhile USC does not take a hit for playing teams from washington......

Actually Ole Miss finished 7-4 minus the one FCS team they played. That means they are average.

Dude, the Washington schools sucked, but at least they're BCS. Playing FCS teams is unexcusable.
There is never going to be complete objectivity. The games are played, there is no transitive properties, and no playoff.
But looking and analyzing the numbers available is what is most accurately happening.

even if a FCS team is better than some BCS teams? this was almost certainly the case this year for 0-12 Washington, and perhaps WSU. I'm not a fan of playing FCS schools either, but if you look objectively at the teams that were played and ignore labels then there is no way that Bama should take an extra hit for FCS schools while the washington schools don't hurt USC. a combined 2-22 is a perfect storm of suckiness.

Wazzu and Washington are traditionally decent programs (UW even won a NC) that got pulled into a vortex of suck.
