look I only watch a sport if I have a local team or a team I have some kind of connection to to root for. it's just how my fandom works. if I was going to get into soccer I wouldn't be watching foreign leagues I would find a local team perhaps the dynamo to support.

Fair enough.

The majority of the world likes watching the best players in the world compete a la the World Cup.

And if you really wanted to get behind soccer, you'd become a USA soccer fan, it's a great way to learn the sport and get a vested interest behind it and still fit into your fandom rules.

I got into real good for the last Olympics. Got me good and excited for soccer I even ventured over to the soccer board. they kept trying to get me to watch these foreign leagues. I refused to do it

I'm definitely going to watch the US in the world cup but no other teams.

They are called pretty often. I mean, how often do you watch soccer, really? It's called as often as it can be. How can the ref KNOW (KNOW!) that the guy dove? How can he know he's not really hurt? How can he absolutely, positively know?

What if a guy was fouled, could have stayed on his feet, but simply didn't and he would have lost advantage had he stayed up? He didn't exaggerate or act hurt, just went down (not easily) when fouled? Still a yellow?

It's really not simple and I'm pretty sure you've never been a ref.

hence me not caring about watching foreign leagues. I was watching because I had my America team to root for. I also watched our men's team beat mexico for the first time. I was still in soccer mode from the Olympics

It was but to understand sports and the difficulties in making calls in real time as an official I can understand the challenges. That being said, were talking about the 15-20 best officials in the world here.
