They’ve halfway just given up and imported BR’s at this point.

Does WWL still talk for five minutes and then run ten minutes of commercials?

ESPN Nola is really, really bad. One day last week there was 15 minutes of dead air during drive time. Their signal is shitty and goes in and out a lot, sometimes you even get a little bit of a different station blending in.

Ken Berthelot filled in for Gus one day last week and literally spent the first half hour interviewing a random tourist who was eating lunch at Ole Saint

It was pretty rough. The tourist was from New York and ken mentioned at least 3 times that he was friends with Ron Swaboda

Yeah yeah uh yeah duh hell with the Falcons. Oh wait Bobby we'll be back after 10 mins of commericals doo doo doo doo doo dooooooooooo. That's about it haha.

It’s ridiculous how bad the signal is for ESPN Nola. I live downtown and can pick up a better signal when I’m in Houma for work. Can’t go a mile on the causeway without the country music station interfering.

The transmitter is in Golden Meadow so that makes sense

ESPN New Orleans is trash. It’s almost hard to imagine a city with 2 pro sports teams and a heavy college presence could be so bad.

being closer to the station definitely helps the signal, the question is why is a weak signaled "NOLA" based radio station all the way out in the Houma area in the first place?

Where is local sports talk radio good? Don't give me New York, I've had a taste of that and it's annoying.

Because everyone that works at WWL has speech impediments.

For example, Timmy Z has the worst lisp I’ve ever heard. Dude needs to stick to just answering the phones.

Because the quality of sports talk radio is inversely proportional to the audiences average IQ. So in this one rare case, BR > NO...

Yea Gus Catingil (sp) is pretty terrible. If you want any sports news other than saints don’t listen to a NOLA station. Moscona is the best to listen to in NOLA and that’s saying a lot b/c much of BR could probably go without him

And as someone else said 100.3 I get a country station about 40% of the time

just listen to the commercials. They are the only reason I know there is a road in Golden Meadow that they don't even call by name, they just call it the 4 lane

not to mention being the home of Nicholls St sports

Jordy & Tbob is fine in the early AM

LeBetard isn’t a total wash but not my style

Asher on 1280 is tolerable, I think comes on at noon now

Chris Gordy is ok if he’s talking LSU.

Moscona in the after noons on espn is good

Kaare Johnson is unique but pretty trash usually

The rest of the lineup on 1280 is not good & kattemgel might be the worst of any over on ESPN in the afternoons. David ducorbier should not be on the radio
