Why is Michigan/Ohio State always so early?
Posted by SelaTiger

As big a game as it is, wouldn’t it be much better at night? Yes, I know it’s traditional because I remember it always being early, even as a little kid. But c’mon man, they need to make it a night game. Is there any good reason to have it so early?

Ohio State didn't have actual full size stadium lights until the 2000s
So at this time of the year have to start at noon not 330
They did end up playing the 2006 game later with lights for TV on ABC. But Fox gets biggest ratings at noon

I don't think Michigan had permanent lights until around 2010 or so. The only 3:30 OSU/Michigan game I can remember is 2006. It sets up well, Bama/Auburn get the late afternoon and then games like USC/ND can be featured at night.

They don’t know how to properly do football up North. Subpar football propped up by the media.

Big Ten can't hold their alcohol, have to get it over early. True story.

And the 100,000 fans? Holy frick noon may seem like 4 am if you’re an alcoholic drunktard but it’s really not that early to most of the world. Why do you think your preference is better for the rest of the world?

Because it would no doubt be more electric at night. I don’t want to hear about the cold.

And you know this how? Because of your extensive experience attending night games vs day games in the B1G? Not everyone is like LSU and that’s ok
