I agree. So many more people are gambling because it’s legal. What was a smaller problem could be a bigger problem as people who never would have gotten involved with gambling when it was illegal now get sucked into it because it’s legal.

Banning alcohol decades ago was never going to work because so many people drank and it’s almost impossible to take something away that so many people participated in.

But with gambling, it wasn’t very widespread. By legalizing it, a bigger problem may be created with more people becoming hooked. There was no reason to legalize it.

Gambling cured the depression I had from my sports teams losing all the time. Betting against them has been a blessing.

Its truly the best thing. Example, I bet on TAMU against Mizzou. If Mizzou wins, I'd be so happy I don't even care if I lost money. But when I was down after the loss, I remembered I'm actually getting paid for mizzou to lose, and I'm happier again.

So...do away with all Vice crimes?

Should prostitution, sex with minors, drug use, "crimes against nature, public nudity & acts; and all manner of "immorality by societal standards" simply be allowed unfettered by any and all laws? BE-CAUSE that would be total freedom baw, right?

I miss when it was a little more taboo but there’s no reason it should be illegal

Well, yeah that was part of the allure I guess -- part of the thrill of the action was getting to your (not-sanctioned-by-govt) bookie before the games. By remember -- there used to be plenty of opportunities still on River Boats, at Atlantic City, Vegas and Indian Casinos.

The reason it should be illegal EVERYWHERE, 24/7 is because people have ZERO will-power, will and do become addicted, and are prone to gamble away their entire lives. I've seen it destroy good people.

I assume you want to ban fast food, booze, sugar, cigarettes, etc as well?

On what planet have any of those ever been illegal vices?

Because people have zero will power, right?

I’ve seen heart disease destroy more good people than gambling

Look, it's just my opinion, my experience, based on my observations of people (we are ALL weak).

If you are disciplined, good for you. Most people just aren't when it comes to their favorite dopamine charge.

No doubt

But the answer cannot be to just ban everything that’s addictive
