Why don't women tennis players play 5 setters in majors?

They want higher pay and all. Can only be bothered to play three sets in majors. Why is this?

Equality, but not really equality.
Plus, they use up a lot of energy grunting, moaning, and screaming every time they swing the racquet. Five sets would be a tough ask.

Bruh, this would be a nightmare for fans to sit through excruciating push-fests. Men's matches are arguably too long as it is.

Modern tennis rules were codified in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Governing bodies mandated best-of-three sets for women and best-of-five for men. Tennis, a sport heavily bound by tradition, simply kept this structure in place for over a century.

Why don't WNBA players play with the mens size basketball? I'm fine with 3 in women tennis.

Do you want to see matches played into 2-3am? This isn't the Australian Open

The TV networks would get rid of five setters if they could. Even Davis Cup, The Olympics, and year end finals have gone to best of three

Because the fans don't want to watch it and the players don't want to play it.
Even the men's game is trying to figure out a way to reduce court time without changing it too much. Because these 5 hour marathons are causing major issues for the players. I wouldn't be surprised to see no-ad scoring but they're been considering that for years without pulling the trigger.
eta: To the point posted above, I didn't even consider the networks.

Can you imagine Sabalenka’s unforced errors when she goes to shite with the style of tennis she plays. Who could watch that train wreck for 3+ hours?
