re: Why don't the Bengals cut ties with Shemir Stewart and just sign Hendrickson to a deal?

It’s a general term. Any idiot can understand that’s it’s not literal if you are required to do a press conference.
But it’s certainly possible to “shut up and play football” while doing your required press conferences. Didn’t know you were that confused on this lol

I am just letting you know this is my last interaction with you on this subject so if you want the last word, you are welcome to it. It will let you go upstairs later to retrieve your dino bites and mac & cheese, smiling. You will be able to stride confidently into the kitchen and inform your mom you won the internet today. There is no point to continue when you just repeat the same argument over and over.
While not interacting with the press will likely cause issues alone it can also limit earning potential. While talking about your brand as an 8th grader is usually humorous, it is real business as an NFL player. Building an individual fan base is what sells jerseys and other player merch. Being cold to the press avo, iding connecting with fans on SM, and through long-form interviews gives up those revenue streams. Shutting up and playing ball has a tangible financial cost.
The contract language as written is too vague it is as simple as that. It is common in adhesion contracts especially for personal performance but this should not be a situation where adhesion boilerplate is accepted by a player. It isn't the 1960s.

They aren’t really that hard to anticipate. This is really simple. Just shut up and play football. Why is this so hard for some of you?

Ad hominems are the signs of a loser. As well as “I’m done talking about this” lol

Because it’s painfully simple and it’s correct lol. Nobody has said anything to show why “shutting up and playoff football” is so hard to do.

You can “shut up and play ball” without giving up any of what you sit listed lol. Again, I am amazed that this is so hard for some of y’all to wrap your heads around.

It’s really not.
I’d love to hear some of these highly “ambiguous” actions that everyone thinks will be so hard for these players to determine whether or not to do.

Ending every post you make with lol makes it clear you aren’t confident in whatever moronic point you are trying to make. It’s a crutch for your retardation.

I’m just stating facts.
He/his agent aren’t confident that he can avoid doing or saying dumb shite. But they want the money anyway.
That’s a really asinine thing to expect as one party to a business contract lol

By his own criteria on the seond page, he is a loser and lost.
Keep a limited mind talking for long enough, and they will set up their petard and commence to hoisting.

A sack is a sack and is an impactful play no matter the down.
All defensive plays are not created equal.,, a tackle 7 yards down from the line of scrimmage on 3rd down that forces a punt… more impactful than a first down sack

He has offered to take less money, but wants a certain amount guaranteed.
Mike Brown hates guaranteed money. The NFL requires teams to put the guaranteed money in escrow that is paid out beyond the first year. One reason the Bengals have always tried to avoid it.

Because they can’t wrap their head around the simple concept lol
And nobodys offered up any sort of examples of these hugely difficult and ambiguous situations where players are so confused about whether or not to do something. I’m waiting.
It can’t be any simpler: shut up and play football. I don’t know why this has become so foreign for people lol

everyone in this thread whos responding to you are offering up examples of how the amibguous language could/would be used against a player to void guaranteed money.
they are also making good points to you ignoring the obvious in favor of spouting some boomer "just play ball" shite over and over.
hes playing ball for money. the bengals are trying to make it easy to void that money.

Right. And he will continue to get paid to play ball, if he just plays ball and doesn’t do or say stupid shite lol

They are protecting their investment. It’s done in business daily lol. It’s asinine for one business party to say, “we can’t promise that what you are investing in won’t screw up, but hey we want the money anyway”

Whats stupid to one person could be profound to another.
Its the interpretation of it thats at issue here, along with the lack of precedent.
Would you sign a contract where you work that would allow your employers to go thru your post history and hold you financially accountable for the things you've said?
