Imagine your a low level fbs or fcs school. You have trouble getting top talent. Why not try and get a 6'6 215 pound small forward who plays at the school to play football? He could be a beast on the gridiron probably better than he even is at basketball. And cpils you imagine a 6'9 or 6'10 reciever? Think of the possibilities. I wonder why more small schools don't try this

How many good 6’6” 215 WRs are there?

There’s your answer. Like none

Obviously Jimmy Graham and demaryious Thomas are examples of guys who did this which is why I'm wondering why more don't try it

Could you imagine Shaq as a tight end? Have him run 10 yards and turn around and just throw it up to him.

This is the second thread you've started regarding two sport athletes. It's not as easy as you seem to be making it out to be. College basketball players don't because they aren't good enough. It takes more than being 6'6" 215 pounds to play D1 football

Football is easy as hell to pickup and play from a reciever or fkex tight end perspective as long as you know the playbook and learn basic route combos. Its like track you just have to be an athlete no alot of technique. Most practice is to learn olays and get in shape. Of your already an athlete just learn the plays

By the time you bulk up enough for football the season's over and you have to drop all that weight to get in shape for basketball. If your coach will even let you do it in the first place.

The scholarship would count towards the football limit. Not sure why a football coach would want to burn a spot for a part time player. And I'm sure the basketball coach wouldn't be thrilled about football poaching his players.

Sounds like you quit after your freshman year because you couldn’t be further from the truth.

I played football and baseball all through high school never played basketball all of my basketball friends played football and the only one to go anywhere was a kid who was 6'3 thought he was Kobe incarnate but ended up signing to go play reciever at la tech.

Then you should know there is a hell of a lot more to the position than just being athletic. Especially after high school.

You can only get one scholarship, and I think both Football and Basketball tend to be the full ride variety. Why risk hurting yourself at a secondary sport for the insanely tiny chance you may make the NFL.
