Well Colorado did drop in the media Poll (AP)...
Coaches gave Deion credit for the "gutty rivalry win" and stupidly moved them up.
So the media did silently criticize Deion.

I would love to see Colorado beat USC. Colorado will give up points but Shedeur will have to ball out to keep them in that game.? We all know Lincoln Riley is allergic to defense.

Only thing I criticized Deion about were his comments about hating culture before the season started. After going through the toxic culture of Coach O after the 2019 season, I disagreed with his comments.

Who expected them to lose that game at home? No one I spoke with and I also don't remember reading here any legitimate predictions that they would lose.
Therefore, I think MOST people expected them to be 3-0 when the game kicked off.
However, they barely squeaked by CSU after Deion made it a point of public record that his team would be highly motivated after the comments by the CSU coach.
The OP was just wondering why Deion was getting a completely free pass for their performance.
Then the Deion fluffers came out in full force to defend St Deion.
If the quote I attributed to him is incorrect, then please provide the correct quote.
FWIW, I don't even dislike Deion except when he starts the racial BS. I'm actually quite impressed with a lot of things he has said and done (I've watched a few of his JSU speeches and very much liked his message).
Again, that said, when he (or anyone) starts with racist crap, I'm out.

It's not just that they lost 11 games. It's that they lost those games by an average of 29 points. That seems almost impossible. That's worse than opening weekend for the bad news bears.

Why is someone a “Deion fluffier” for pointing out the premise of the OP is flawed?
The point spread is made up by and for gamblers. It’s intended to at least entice some bets on either side.* It is not some mathematical proof or model that definitely shows Team A is X number of points better than Team B therefore if they did not win by X points then the coach of team must be criticized for his team under achieving.
Your cute little semantic games aside, that the team was bad last year and has a completely revamped roster and have a better record than everyone or at least most thought they’d have 3 weeks ago are relevant factors that trump how they did in one game vs the spread in evaluating the team and how the coach is doing this far.
*Contrary to popular myth it is not meant to get an even split on both sides but just to prevent exposing the book to too much risk.

Colorado won one game last year. Sure, they are overrated as hell right now but why pretend the turnaround hasn't been impressive?
