Why did the 2013 Braves get so easily butthurt?

If you let a rookie pitcher hit a HR off of you, you deserve whatever you get, who cares if Fernandez watched the ball go over the fence. Man up and move on. But of course the "enforcer" McCann had to make it an issue.

Same with Gomez a few weeks later. Man up and move on, instead the Braves make another issue out of something because they were on the bad end of a play.

No wonder they didn't advance in the playoffs, they had no mental toughness at all.

I would like to know this answer. Falcons fans are a similar breed and they own the butthurt category

I guess you had to go back to last year instead of all the way back to yesterday because you figured there were no Rays fans to troll?

I'm a life-long Braves fan and I've played baseball my whole life, I understand the do's and don'ts of the gentlemen's code of the game. But looking back, the fact that McCann made himself the enforcer of the unwritten rules, as Dan LeBatard says, was so cringe-worthy. When he blocked the plate and yelled at that Brewers player, it was just so dumb.

That freaking call still pisses me off. Based on that ruling every shallow outfield pop up should warrant an infield fly rule. Not to mention the umpire didn't make the call until the ball almost touched the ground. The ump normally makes that call much sooner.

Gomez had it coming. McCann looked like he was talking to Fernandez, not really getting pissed. Just trying to help him understand that you shouldn't stare down a homerun.

Because McCann is a baby back bitch and was the epitome of the organization's mindset.

For being known for being such a manly sport, baseball has some pretty bitchy unwritten rules. Who cares if he stares down a homerun?

I'm all for staring at a home run/pimping it but Gomez yelled at the pitcher while rounding the bases. That's when McCann got upset
