Well that’s part of it. It’s Broncos country, and the Broncos are what you here on the radio all the time. Believe it or not second to them is probably Air Force football. There really just isn’t a good a college football culture here, and I used to live in Boulder.. nobody gives a frick about the football team there like anywhere down south, Midwest, east coast and even parts of the west coast.

What do you mean? Like those LA kids didn’t like it there?

A bunch of their recruits from California in the 80’s and early 90’s were mostly gang members from inner-city LA.

Sometimes they worked out. Sometimes they and their posse committed crimes throughout campus.

You’re right. It was Gary Barnett.

Their athletic facilities overall are very outdated

This is false, they updated a bit 2 years ago and then had a water main break and had to start over.

out of the talent they can pull from Denver

Ignoring that they have the facilities of a rec league team

Are you really asking how someone with zero people around that care and are outspent by Northwestern ten fold on football are not good?

Not much talent in Denver , the best from Denver go elsewhere. The #2 prospect in the state is an OL that signed with A&M

The only thing walking around Denver these days are skinny jean and flannel shirt wearing people ironically wearing thick glasses from the 70s

Contact sport talent? No...

They've been A LOT more competitive since they joined the Pac12 because it really opened up California apart from snagging gangbangers from L.A. in the early 90's.

Colorado was SO bad before they joined the PAC and they've definitely taken advantage of the relationship to California being in the Conference.

They've had good teams compared to where they were at previously. I mean they went 10-4 a few years ago. This idea that they're going to ever be early 90's Colorado is NCAA death penalty sanctions away from being a reality.

I remember this being an issue from the McCartney era. I forgot who those guys were, though. I remember Darius Hagan and Deon Figures were from that area.

Lots of Louisiana talent too. Kordell Stewart and Eric Bienemy are just a couple.

They also were hurt by the elimination of partial qualifiers.

As stated, the University Admin pretty much killed their program as did the last few shitty hires. Folsom Field is a shite hole and the whole town smells like weed.

This isn’t true at all. There are multiple videos on YouTube of people touring their facilities. They’re actually pretty damn nice.

Folsom was never the best facility. It’s always received rave reviews based on location. That said, what really matters is player facilities. What more does a CFB stadium need to have?

Boulder is <1% black and whiter then Provo Utah but they love bitching about how racist the South is.

I thought I remember them recommitting to football a bit? They’ll never throw in the cash of a team from the South, but they don’t need to in order to win games. Last time I visited Folsom, I thought it was pretty nice. It’s much nicer than Knoxville.

When I was there during the McCartney era there were maybe 3 black folks on campus that weren't football players.

Denver doesn't have much of a black population either for it's size.

They are 43-74 (24-62) in 10 years since joining the PAC with now two Bowl appearances and the one division win you mentioned

Even eliminating the Barnett years, under Hawkins before leaving the Big 12 they were 19-39 (10-27) with a bowl appearance in 5 years. It’s really been more of the same since the scandal under Barnett

In both conferences they were recruiting far from their own backyard in an area that gets picked over. Having zero local base to recruit from and an admin/donor base that doesn’t care is a double whammy

I would imagine it is the lack of local recruiting talent and football culture. I grew around Baton Rouge where football becomes life in the fall to living here where sometimes you don't even realize a home game is happening on game day. It is a beautiful area and amazing place to live but I don't think the picturesque scenery and all the granola white people appeal to a lot of the players garnering P5 school offers if you kna mean
