????

Never had a losing season, four division titles in nine years in one of the NFL's toughest divisions, made two Super Bowls and won one.

I'm going to agree with Switzer or Ewbank.

Agree on Sean Payton. Tremendously overated due to his teams having a flashy offense.

I'd have to go with Switzer because he inherited a Cadillac and turned it into a Pinto.

How can anyone say Barry Switzer? Yea the guy seemed like a complete scum bag but he won at both levels, coached 20+ years and had 1 losing season.

I don't get how he can even be (dis)honorable mention here.

He completely changed the culture of the Bucs. They had 12 straight seasons with double-digit losses before he got there. He had them in the playoffs by his second year and took them to two NFC Championship Games. He also had double-digit wins every season in Indianapolis.

Because he squandered the prime year of the GOAT QB with his ridiculously conservative coaching. I don't think he went for a single 4th down conversion his entire tenure. And he never seemed to have his team ready for the playoffs. Outside of 2006, they were out-schemed every year by superior coaches. And he lucked out in 2006 by facing an even worse coach in Lovie Smith.

Switzer. He's the NFL version of Larry Coker.

Yeah but he's finished no higher than third in the SEC West.

Dungy held the Greatest Show on Turf to 11 points in the NFCCG and STILL lost. We most certainly wouldn't have beaten the Eagles in Philly a few years later with him.

That GOAT QB has played for several other coaches and not won a Lombardi with any of them. So I don't think you can pin his lack of championships on the one coach who did win the Super Bowl.

I'm grateful for Dungy pulling us out of our eternal black hole but we never would've won a SB with him (or even got there in 02). He should send his SB ring to Sexy Rexy.

He took freaking Jim Caldwell and John Fox to the super bowl. If this was about the worst coach to ever coach in a super bowl, then it would easily be Jim Caldwell. Manning has been cursed with very conservative coaches who are not good game-planners his entire career. Just once I would like to see him with a Belichick or Payton - someone willing to take even one risk.

I think Manning has proven to be a choker in the playoffs all on his own. He's choked several times without Dungy.
