I would take Parker, or even Westbrook ahead of CP3 because they have proven they can lead a team to success. Parker more so, he even has a Finals MVP to show for it.

I like how one round further and still coming away empty handed is considered "leading a team to success".

Give me Chris Paul as the 3rd best player

that's laughable.

So the guy dogs chris Paul out every time they matchup with each other, has won more MVPs than chris Paul, has led his teams to better records than Chris Paul. But it is laughable that Rose is better than Paul........okay.

Parker was the #1 guy on the 2007 championship team.

Duncan was the best player on the team still. I don't think it's accurate to say Parker was the #1 guy. That transformation didn't really happen until a couple years later.

Honestly, Manu was still probably the 2nd best player on that 2007 team as well, especially during that playoff run.

Considering Derrick Rose didn't deserve his MVP and Paul was robbed of an MVP, I'm not sure this is a strong argument in your favor.

You can criticize his defense, but he wasn't really inefficient this year, he was solid offensively.

He shot like 33% from 3 and 46% from the floor. I wouldn't call that efficient considering LBJ shot 56% from the floor and the likes of Durant and Parker shot like 52% from the floor. I also believe LBJ shot like 40% from 3 as well.

and he played with Tim Duncan. But you feel like Paul should do the same with Blake griffin. That couldn't be more illogical, unless you think griffin is an all time great?

The "3rd best player in the NBA" should be able to carry his team out of the 1st round of the playoffs against a lower seeded team.

its irrelevant because you know the answer proves your logic to be silly

If Paul played like shite but carried a team to a championship, he would absolutely be considered better in my book. It means he can make others around him better. Which is the job of the point guard anyway and it's something he hasn't been able to do thus far in his career.

Chris Paul has never made a conference finals.

Literally only one or two players in the NBA over the past decade have done this better than Paul.

But why don't his teams succeed? Again, judging him based off "the best PG in the NBA" standards.
look at his teams, pretty simple.

The only PG to really succeed recently is Parker. Look at his team.

Rondo won one and had some other close years. Look at his teammates.

Now look at Paul's.

Whoops... been drinking

Either way, anyone who is even the slightest bit competitive doesn't care about making the finals. I wouldn't consider that leading a team to success.

Chris Paul took a Vinny Del Negro coached team to the second round.

one can not be in Lebron or Kd's league and still be fairly efficient

Boom.

Parker and MAYBE Westbrook are the only PG's I'd take over Paul. I'm not saying he sucks, I'm just saying I'd take a proven winner over him for now.

I'd rather have a prime Duncan and Parker than Paul and David West or Paul and Griffin.
