What good does being able to stay on the floor longer do if he can't help his team win when it matters?

Kobe Bryant being in the top 5 is a joke. One of the least efficient "star" players this year. Again the correct answer is Tony Parker if we are talking about this year. CP3 is overhyped and I love the guy.

You can criticize his defense, but he wasn't really inefficient this year, he was solid offensively.

He's way underrated, like wayyyyyy underrated.

Paul shot 53% in the Memphis series. The last 2 games, did they matter? Because Paul shot 16 of 28 in those 2 games, so i don't know if you think those 2 games didn't matter or not.

Melo averaged 28.7 points and 6.9 rebounds and has the ability to drop 40+ on almost any night. I still think it's hard to believe that most people here aren't putting him in their top 5
He's one of the elite players, but he in no way, shape, or form makes his teammates any better. There's a reason why the defensively-sound Pacers are having their way with the Knicks. He's probably the best iso player there is, but that alone doesn't put him in my top 5

I'm saying until he wins something that matters (a conference championship, NBA Championship) he shouldn't be considered one of the NBA's best. I'm sorry, the first round of the playoffs is not where players become elite.

So how good he is individually depends on how good his teammates? That makes no sense. So if he plays like shite next year, wherever he is, and shoots 36% from the field in the playoffs but is on a good team that wins it all, then he's one of the NBA's best? That also makes no sense.

When he has lost playoff series where his team was the clearcut better team? Most had Memphis winning this series. He was always undermanned in New Orleans, and the only good year/squad they had they lost to freaking San Antonio

You're basically saying if he had 2 HOF players alongside him he himself would magically be a better player because they would win more. That isn't logical.

Not only CP better, so is K. Irving, R. Rondo, D. Williams, and R. Westbrook. Derrick Rose is the best slashing PG on in the league, I'll give him that.

Then Rose? Have you seen DWill the past couple of years, he's not nearly as good as he used to be. He's definitely not as good as last year or the year before's DRose.

Well, technically they should've been the better team in the Memphis series...
I would take Parker, or even Westbrook ahead of CP3 because they have proven they can lead a team to success. Parker more so, he even has a Finals MVP to show for it. I'd put CP3 into the same category as Dwight Howard. Extremely talented, but just not a winner until proven otherwise.

I'm guessing Memphis was favored and most would have picked Memphis.

Oh you mean the guys who play alongside Tim Duncan and Kevin Durant have had more team success than Chris Paul??

Like I said, if Paul goes wherever next year and plays like shite in the playoffs but wins a title, according to you then is one of the NBA's best, right? That makes you better than playing well and losing.

Are you really prepared to state that Chris Paul isn't one of the best because Blake Griffin is severely overrated as a player? The bottom line is the Clippers aren't going anywhere until Blake and DeAndre grow up. Maybe CP3 deserves some blame for not getting through to them, but sometimes there's little you can do about it. The Clippers were never going anywhere this year, and everyone who followed them knew it. CP3's individual performance was spectacular though, even through their internal strifes.

So, according to you, a healthy (presumably) DRose is worse than:

quote:

CP

CP3 is the Carmelo Anthony of PG's. Everyone keeps sucking up to his arse, and then you see his playoff runs...

BTW, CP3 has lost every game hes played against a DRose led Bulls team FWIW.

quote:

K. Irving

No, not yet anyways. Needs to get his team to the playoffs.

quote:

R. Rondo

I think Rondo is underrated, and his performances in the playoffs are arguably the best in the league in terms of PG's.

quote:

D. Williams

LOL

quote:

R. Westbrook

Close, but I'd take DRose over him.

Well this is just silly. That's an incredibly simplistic comparison. Those two players are in no way comparable other than they haven't done much in the playoffs. CP3's play on the court far outpaces Melo's.

Chris Paul shot 53% in the entire Memphis series, what are you talking about?

Parker was the #1 guy on the 2007 championship team.

I don't think Chris Paul can play like shite and lead a team to a championship, so it's an irrelevant question.

Right now, I would rank it Parker, Westbrook, and Paul in that order.

its irrelevant because you know the answer proves your logic to be silly

Yes, his play individually has been great in some playoff games.

But why don't his teams succeed? Again, judging him based off "the best PG in the NBA" standards.
