I will always pull for an SEC team against any other college division.

I have no problem with Bama winning it all as many times as they can. Let those that lose to them regularly up their coaching, training, overall game, etc. to be able to compete. It's been done in the past, so they can be beaten.

If Alabama never wins another game it’ll be too soon. I’d literally pull for any other team in country before them, will never happen.

I want a Cincy vs Michigan NC. Giving some new blood for once would be great for national interest in CFB imo. We almost had it guaranteed until UGA choked ... again.

I’ve had some arguments over this and in my opinion the SEC is strong enough

Even this is irrelevant the ACC is not strong didn’t hurt Clemson one bit. If you are a fan of any of the other contenders in the SEC and root for Bama you are dumb but if an LSU fan roots for them you are a special kind of retard

I am.

I’d never cheer for a mid major against a blue blood unless they were playing Texas.

The respect the SEC gets is why they have two teams in the playoffs. That respect comes mostly from winning playoff games. LSU benefits from that respect. One year we might win a championship that, but for that respect, we would not have had a chance at, just like Georgia might do this year. Georgia would not be in the playoffs had Bama, UF and LSU not won half this century’s championships.

The respect thing was in issue in 2006. The Michigan-Ohio State rematch thing was real. Florida getting in and waxing OSU made sure a lack of respect wouldn’t happen in the near future. The ensuing wins by LSU, Florida, Bama, and Auburn ended it for good. That’s why Bama was given a rematch in 2011. Pollsters still favored them over 1-loss Okie State.

In 2021, respect for the SEC is not a problem, and won’t be for the foreseeable future.

Only way I pull for SEC teams in bowl games is if they are favored, and I like and bet the line.

Just be careful what you wish for. There’s a scenario where a 12-1 SEC team doesn’t make the conference championship game and gets left out of the playoffs for a 13-0 Boise State down the road if Cincy wins Friday.

I seriously doubt this but so what? Cincinnati making it this year is kind of a perfect storm. First off they have built some equity over the last couple of years from what they have done not other G5 teams. Cincinnati playing well and almost beating UGA in a bowl plus beating Notre Dame was a boost for them. Especially since ND finished 11-1 and was a contender themselves. If ND goes 9-3 does UC get in? Or what if ND didn’t play them? Hard to put ND in over an unbeaten team they lost to but if UC had beaten idk Mich St instead 1 loss ND might be in.
Next 3 of the P5 conference champs had multiple loses. If Ok St beats Baylor they may have been in over Cincy.
The committee goes off the current season. I really don’t see them 2-3 years from saying well Cincinnati beat Bama back in 2021 so we’ll put 13-0 App St over 12-1 LSU that lost the SECCG. It would be based on what those teams did not what happened to other teams in the past

The fact that there wasn’t a tOSU-UM rematch disproves your point. Florida made it because they had a better SOS than Michigan in 2006 and won their conference. Auburn didn’t in 2004 because they started ranked lower and that wasn’t lack of respect for the SEC but because Auburn went 7-5 in 2003 while USC and OU finished top 5 and had most of their team back.

Please someone explain to me how Alabama or Georgia winning a National Championship helps LSU and maybe I’ll change my mind.

It helps recruiting.

If you're recruiting to LSU, after you give them cash and a hooker, you can sell them on getting to compete against national champions instead of competing against Rose Bowl Winners.

I don't want an overrated G5 to win and I don't want Bama to win.

No win situation.
