Because I have a bachelors from LSU and am in grad school at Louisiana.
I love it all.

I can honestly say I know nothing of Hawaiis university but I wouldn't mind going there.

I grew up in Monroe and went to NLU while my dad is an LSU alum so we went to games of both schools growing up. After i got married we moved to the Lafayette area in 94. Now NLU had alot of 1AA success in football and had a solid basketball program with numerous NCAA appearances, but at the time USL was a bit ahead of them just by playing in a bigger conference and playing bigger named teams so i was excited to be close to LSU and USL. Imagine my surprise when i found a local sports talk radio station and was told outright by the people doing the shows and most cajun sports fans that i met, that i couldn't be a fan of LSU and USL..... It turned me off so much i could not care one way or another if they win or lose.... Now i am happy for my friends who are cajun fans when they have success but otherwise the school doesn't matter to me

But yes is it possible to love multiple sports teams. 2011 was nearly the greatest sports season of my fanhood ever. We all know what LSU did, UL's 1st bowl win, and I feel like if the Saints don't lose late to San Fran, they probably win it all. I always pull for LSU and UL but to be fair there are fans of both schools that irritate me.

As a Louisiana resident, I would prefer to not be associated with dumb, unruly Cajuns, who cannot even spell "raging" correctly.

So that's why lsu is so quick to steal the whole 'GEAUX' thing. Look down on Cajuns, at the same you take from them. Typical lsu fan.

Growing up here I've always just referred to the sports teams as The Cajuns.

lsu uses 'GEAUX' at every turn, yet totally looks down at the french/cajun aspect of this state.
