wtf does this even mean? How is greatness now somehow "redefined" because of lebron?

Lebron is great. So are a bunch of other people in the league. Lebron just happens to be the best of the bunch, but it's not like the meaning of "great" has somehow changed.

He has a ways to go to prove that, but he is very good. Brady gets far too much credit for team success while Peyton and Aaron don't get credit for not having all-world coaches. It has been proven Brady can do a lot less to win while Manning and Rodgers will absolutely lose in the playoffs if they don't play lights out.

Sure it has, there are sports gods from the distant past who would be viewed as just average players today.

It's akin to the silliness of people saying Jim Thorpe was the greatest athlete ever, period. Thorpe was maybe the best athlete ever given the era he lived in, but he would look pedestrian compared to the likes of Bo Jackson, Lebron James, Deion Sanders, etc.

I think you may be just taking the term too literal.

We've never seen a 6'9" 270 lb player be this quick, agile, be able to shoot from distance, and pass the way he can.

We've never seen anything like it, that's where the "redefined" part comes into play. It's not really redefining the definition of greatness, but how one can be great.

Same with Michael, Magic, and so on...

Shitt, the way things are going these days with ISIS in that part of the world, they are going to be playing with human heads.

His only problem will be that he lost 2-3 good years sitting behind Favre, whereas guys like Luck, Brady and Manning were all stars within 18 months of being drafted.

Just looking at the data though, it seems obvious. His 2011 season was the greatest QB season ever. He finished the season with a QB rating of 123. That's fricking stupid.

I can't remember alot of games where Manning didn't frick up his own chances of winning playoff games. Rodgers, imo can't stay healthy enough to have a conversation to be the best ever. He's won a SB, and he's got a great passer rating, but damn, dude is always hurt it seems. Stay healthy and do what Brady's done for as long and then we can crown him, or not.

I didn't know England and Germany became third world countries.

Fair enough, but he's been appreciably better than every other QB for a while now, what is it 7 or 8 years?

Agreed

I dislike soccer in general, but he is one of the best athletes I've ever seen.

Manning has lost three playoff games with a QB rating over 100. I'm pretty sure Brady never has.

On the flip side, he was an onside kick away from taking his team to the Superbowl on one leg last year.

Statistically speaking yes he has. And he might be efficient as hell. BUT, at some point you have to ask yourself what does he have to show for it? Is one Title enough for you? It may not be for some, or a lot of people. Is one enough for you to say Peyton Manning is the GOAT? Why is Rodgers all the sudden and all time better player than Manning? Manning has better stats, a better record, more accomplishments....

I just think that Rodgers is going to have to accomplish more to get on Brady's level. I can't say that enough. Brady to me is the GOAT QB. Montana is a very close second.

Maybe so, be he was also playing injured. So I think healthy, he might have that game out of reach for Seattle.

For me, yes.

Granted, he still woulda had to win 1 more game, but I don't fault him for the way the SEA game ended. I mean, Bostick holds onto the onside kick and Green Bay is playing in the SB and maybe he has another ring. That doesn't really bother me when I decide who I think is best.

I've been saying it for a couple of years.

Manning has better stats
Actually, ROdgers' stats are better.

Wouldn't that also be a reason why the SB rings would be a bit overstated?
