AI was a chucker. Wade no question.

Winning the scoring title while shooting 40% is not impressive.

Shame on AI for not passing the ball to Matt Geiger, Tyrone Hill and Kenny Thomas. What was Iverson thinking taking shots while double teams when he could of kicked it outside to Eric Snow?

Alan Iverson was a straight baller. He didn't have luxury of playing with Shaq and Lebron in their primes.

Wade is the people's choice though and I can respect that but AI would blow Wade off the dribble in his prime.

Forget Shaq and Lebron, AI would of KIIIIIIIIIIIIILLED to play with Lamar Odom and Eddie Jones

I can't believe this is even a discussion, Wade all day. More complete player, more exciting player (I watched AI in person-that shite was boring). Better teammate.

this always is ignored when people say AI never played with anyone.

Not sure about this. AI basically took Philly to the Finals in 2000 by himself. Wade has HAD to have help to even get to the finals.... I like wade even over Bron as far as a teammate.. But I would take AI in a heartbeat over wade.........

Wade obviously will end up with a more impressive resume but AI will be remembered as being the better player probably. Dude was nasty good when he was good and had all the talent in the world. In 25 years we'll still talk about AI. Wade is gonna end up getting lost in the shuffle by then, unfair as that is. He's an amazing player.

It isn't to most people that really watch basketball. People saying Iverson are disregarding every aspect of basketball that isn't scoring.

D Wade

AI was a beast though. I'd put money on him in a 1v1 against just about anyone.

The problem is how quickly AI basically became a shell of his former self. He was unbelievable for a few year period.

Are you serious?

AI spent 10 seasons in Philly.

How old was he when he went to Denver, 31 or 32?

AI battled injuries before he got to Denver, too.

Not even the same AI.

Point guards who shoot 40% consistently, while taking the bulk of the team's shots, are the key to many an NBA title.....

Like leading the league in steals for 3 consecutive seasons?

Because all he did was gamble on defense leaving his man for his teammates to pick up.

except the fact that he put his best shooting year of his career AND played a full 82 games his first year in Denver.Probably his 3rd best year of his career.

But you're right he was a shell of his former self

ETA: and at 31 it's not like he suffered a major injury. If he was washed up at 31, he's not any better than Wade.
