The Kid. I'm convinced that if it wasn't for injuries he would have gone down as the GOAT. He was the complete package.

Kurt Warner

As a Ram's fan I doubt any season will ever match that season when he led us to the championship. Simply awesome on every level and one of the best stories in NFL and sports history that may never be repeated again.

Aside from that he is just an all-around good guy who is an inspiration on how to live a good life.

Nolan Ryan
-27 years in the MLB
-was still throwing close to 100 mph in his 40s
-7 no hitters within three decades
-11x Strikeout Champion

Plus 46 year old Nolan beat the shite out of 20 year old Robin Ventura.

Very underrated imo. Before going to Texas he had only missed 13 games total in his full 8 seasons, including a streak of 547 games.

Had he not gotten hurt last year he'd already be a member of the 300 home run club and he still could reach 600 if he can get back to where he was before last season.

Meh. Struggling in real fights with drug testing doesn't impress me much.

He started struggling 9 years into his career. The horror.

Either A) props to OP for being on the Internet after age 85, or B) your favorite athlete of all time is someone you never saw play.

My pick is Michael Jordan, because he's tGOAT.

A couple of my favorite Rickey Henderson stories:

quote:

In Henderson’s first season with the Padres, he boarded the team bus and was looking for a seat. Steve Finley said, “You have tenure, sit wherever you want.” Henderson looked at Finley and said, “Ten years? Ricky’s been playing at least 16, 17 years.”

quote:

A reporter asked Henderson if Ken Caminiti’s estimate that 50 percent of Major League players were taking steroids was accurate. His response was, “Well, Rickey’s not one of them, so that’s 49 percent right there.”
