What an idiotic response. How about we take away Reggie Bush from USC? Or Vince Young from Texas? You play with the players your have on your team, you fricking moron.

Surprised more people aren't saying 2009 Bama.

Should have lost to a weak Tennessee team at home.

Needed help from the refs to beat a pretty mediocre LSU team.

There wasn't anything about that team that was dominant. 07 LSU was dominant before all the injuries.

They still had LenDale White and Matt Leinart. They still do what they did without Bush. Those were insanely talented teams.

They more than likely go 11-2 or 12-1 if you remove Young. They still had an incredibly talented team without him.

Don't hurt me. I personally think 2009 Alabama was the weakest of Alabama's 3 BCS teams.

This has to be just blind hate, 14 players were drafted in the NFL from that team

Agree with Troy Smith.

Troy Smith over McFadden was criminal

How about Colt McCoy? Or Rolando McClain? Or Tim Tebow? It's just a dumb, simplistic response in an attempt to denigrate Auburn's title. We had Cam Newton on the roster, so it's completely irrelevant to bring up the hypothetical scenario in which he wasn't on the team.
Auburn still had Michael Dyer, Onterio McCaleb, and Nick Fairley. There were still some solid players on that team.

2002 tOSU beat one of the strongest opponents of this era.

It's pretty silly naming them.

2009 Bama beat a Texas team with a backup QB.

11 point win over 3-9 Northwestern
5 point win over 8-6 Wisconsin
4 point win over 7-6 Purdue
7 point win over 5-7 Illinois

They came close to beating Alabama in the title game without him.

Dont'a Hightower says hello.

Agreed. They don't beat Alabama in 2008 without him.

It is absolutely relevant when discussing the strengths and weaknesses of national championship-winning teams. When looking at who the best and worst was, you sometimes have to hypothetically remove a player from a team and see what could have happened without him. 2010 Auburn doesn't win 9 games without Cam Newton.

And 2009 Auburn came close to beating them with Chris Todd. The same team with Newton, an improved Fairley, Dyer, and an experienced offensive line won the national championship the following season.

Calvin Johnson was the best player in the country that year.

...and 7 point win over 34-game win streak Miami.

Forgot about that, didn't you?

Don't discount Tressel ball.

Played down or up to competition.

Any team can play up for one big game. Ohio State was like a Boise State in 2002.

Uh no.

"Getting up" for a game doesn't cover for lack of talent.

That tOSU team was extremely talented and had to be to beat Miami.

There have been a lot of teams who rolled up big scores in their regular season only to be exposed talent-wise when they meet the best competition.

tOSU wasn't exposed against the defending champs. They beat one of the best opponents of this era.

Calling them the worst makes no sense.
