I'd ask for your top four but I feel as though all the forthcoming lol emoticons might slow the site down.

Which is complete shite for a hybrid center/power forward.

his FG% is not great but he gets to the line A LOT, that's what separates him from these other guys with higher FG%s. his points per shot is high

You people can say what you want about Dirk, but he is definitely not a true power forward, all his rebs are on the defensive glass anyhow

i love Zach's game. It seems like he's underrated every year, but his numbers are always consistently good.

Paul Millsap 17.5 PPG 8.9 RPG (2.9 OFF) 74% FT 55% FG 27% 3P (0.7 ATT/Game) -31 MPG

Kevin Love 25.3 PPG 13.7 RPG (4.4 OFF) 80% FT 44% FG 41% 3P (5.2 ATT/Game)-39.7 MPG

Found steals, blocks and assists just about the same

Efficiency per 48 minutes

Forwards

Lebron....40.96
Millsaps..34.46
Love......33.15

the knock on the efficiency rating is that players aren't penalized that much for missed shots. Which benefits Love.

how can an efficiency stat not measure missed shots?

what exactly is that stat measuring?

it does measure missed shots just gives more value to made shots than penalty for missed. Heres one explanation.

quote:

Under Eff48 every missed field goal costs just one efficiency point, while every made field goal adds at least 2. Thus the formula indirectly rewards shot attempts over shot efficiency.

What’s missing in Eff48 is an acknowledgement of the opportunity cost of missing field goals. A player who takes 15 two-point shots and makes just 5 of them has theoretically cost his team at least twice as many potential points (20) as he has delivered in actual points (10). Therefore the true productive value of his field goal attempts should be somewhere in the red, yet under Eff48 he breaks even.

Thats using which index? Hollinger's PER is different from say NBA.com's PER. Love has a higher efficiency on NBA.com than Millsap. Lebron is NOT a PF, and i do not include him in this debate.

What kind of power forward shoots under 43%?

shooting 42%, if nobody has pointed it out yet

Before last night, he was over 43%. Besides he also plays better defense than Love.

"Amare" and "defense" should never be used in the same paragraph unless there's a "doesn't play" somewhere in there.

you named one thing Milsaps does better than Love, and even that is debatable. How in your own mind can you call him better if all he does is defend better, according to you?

He is a far more efficient scorer that's for damn sure. So he's better at defense and offense than him. That's two thirds of the game. Rebounding numbers would be closer if 1. Millsap played as much as Love does per game and 2. Millsap played some center like Love does.

with Rubio and Love, the T-Wolves have a great inside-outide game going on, much better than I though it would be.
