Well, I suppose the Tressel era did set the standard for integrity.

So the University as a whole has never had integrity of any kind due to a football coach?

A little short sighted, don't yah think?

Are we supposed to just laugh somehow at this bigotry?

What is wrong with this doofus?

He puts his foot in his mouth every other day, and is an embarrassment to the university in many ways.

But he raises a lot of money and has a pretty good vision for improving the school in the future.

But he is definitely a doofus.

With tOSU schedule vs Notre Dame's, I'd say unlikely. Maybe they'll both suck and make it into the Tito's crispy microwave pizza bowl though.

I have to admit, I like the guy.

He's a Class A doofus for sure but he hasn't said anything vile. He's like a cross between Mr. Magoo and Clark Griswald and if nothing else, that has to be somewhat inspirational for those of us that aren't smooth as silk that lacking communication skills isn't a barrier to reaching the top.

in 50 years mocking religion will be a common practice, only a commoner would be upset about a joke.

C'mon man. People have been crying foul for years. OSU played blind with Tressel.

I have to say, even though I was raised Catholic I don't find his comments offensive. However, he is a university president in an environment where he has to know nothing he says is considered "off the record". Just another good, ole boy, kind of a Northern version of Joe Dean, Sr.

religion is an insult to human dignity.

more poor, less education = more likely to be religious

Well, so is being close minded and bigoted.

I'm not religious but do see how those who are practicing catholics may take offense.

that, by definition, is ignorance (and even worse, intentional ignorance), and so anyways, this conversation has no future.

Probably a good comparison.
