It clearly is. Regardless of her "helping" a coaching search, and being a candidate for NFL commish...which she would probably never get...is completely different than being on this committee.

Dont give me someone who just enjoys football and likes it as a hobby. Plus I cant stand when people in politics get involved in sports simply for good press. Stay out of it and do your real job.

No, it's not. She was a candidate for NFL commissioner. She assisted Stanford's coaching search. She's legit.

She's a politician. Is that what we want on the committee? A politician? I do understand the aruguement that many of the others on the committee will have a bias, so I'm not really for that either, but grabbing a politician means that:

1) Florida St will never be selected because they are insensitive to the Injuns

2) There will never be two teams from one conference selected, that's not fair

3) Oklahoma St will be in the big dance after T Boone makes a small donation to the RNC

You keep saying this. How do you know she doesn't take it seriously?

He had like 5 seconds of commentary where that is basically what he said (and clarified it better on twitter). Everyone is reacting to Fowler's loaded question like Pollack actually said that Condi shouldn't be on the committee because she's a female.

you are dumbing down what her input was in the Stanford coaching searching.

How do you know this for sure?

You do realize she is no longer working for the U.S. Gov't as Secretary of State?

It's not like she's going to be watching Alabama/Auburn while trying to talk peace in the Middle East.

Well technically she shouldnt have time to take it as serious as the position demands, but that is a different story.

Football is a hobby to me but I take it seriously .

Anyways we need a Bama fan on the committee. Because she is a woman and highly respected her opinion is untouchable. Which means we get preferential treatment. REC doing work again.

Why not? You know she's not Secretary of State anymore right? She's a college professor

And you are giving it more importance than it deserves. You really think she was in their discussing coaching styles/strategies, X's and O's, with the candidates?

How can you not see it? The commish is simply there to do the best interest in the NFL as a business, and this committee will have nothing to do with that.

And you know this how? Oh wait you don't. You've pulled that idea straight out of your narrow minded arse.

It's pretty sad the route you are taking in watering down her football knowledge. I also doubt "X's and O's" were discussed in the coaching search for Stanford after Harbaugh left.

FWIW, this is food for thought:
Rice considered for Stanfords AD job.
Rice as in ad in Stanfords Recruiting

But then again she doesn't have time for the job and should.....

Re: Condi Rice

Pollack went to Georgia.

He has neanderthal opinions about Football.

He thinks if he don't look and act like ogre and "eat, sleep and drink football" - you don't know anything about football.

It's the same ol' stereotype. That you have act like a crazy southern football bumpkin to be a true CFB fan.

Shaw said that he and Rice have drawn up some safety plays or considered ways to exploit the mismatches that Stanford’s tight ends have created in recent years. “She loves that dynamic that we use to make big plays and also be big targets in the Red Zone,” Shaw said. “She hates prevent defenses. She loves defenses that are aggressive at the end of the game.” LINK

I think she knows a lot more than what people think.

You honestly believe she is one of the top College football minds/authority in the nation?

Or is it that she is a powerful figure, who happens to be a woman, and has been considered for high positions in the athletic community?

Condi would be a great committee member. Some people just can't see past the tip of their dick.

You simply can't see past the fact that she is A. a female & B.she WAS once Secretary of State.

I'd venture to guess she knows more about football than David Pollack.
