Who got the bright idea to stick the Sunbelt tourney in Montgomery ?

No one there. Probably not even 500 people in the stands.

It would get a half decent crowd in lafayette or mobile imo

San Marcos, Conway, Lafayette, Troy and Hattiesburg would have all provided at least half decent crowds. Dumb to have the tournament in Montgomery.
