harbaugh is safe unless he starts churning out 7-5, 6-6 seasons.

Harbaugh....at least Gus beats his rivals once and awhile.

Harbaugh is never going to beat Ohio State

If harbs gets fired, it will be because he starts going 5-7, 6-6.

Gus. Michigan is perfectly content being mediocre in football. That administration couldn’t care less.

ehhh. Wouldn't be surprised to see OSU come back to the field a bit with Day.

I don't understand why the national media thinks Michigan is some powerhouse.

Yeah, they're a very good program, but they've got 1 split national title in about 70 years and they're "icon coach" really never won shite.

They also haven't even won their own conference since 2004.

They're a 9-3 type program. They're owned by their rival. That's reality.

Michigan isn’t going to abandon Harbaugh unless he shites the bed.

Malzahn will be on the hot seat again next year.

Harbaugh was going to be Michigan's 'Golden Boy'. My how that turned into a joke. That huge contract, yet they are no where near being national contenders and no sign of beating the Buckeyes either. Michigan fans have to be disappointed, but as others have stated, as long as he doesn't shite the bed with a 6 loss season, he is probably safe for several years.
Meanwhile Gus seems to be hot and cold, every year! He has to look over his should all the time and now this Gopher loss does not look good. But, he did beat Bama, so...

Fans were calling for his firing last year, then again this year after loss #3 thinking Bama was going to make it #4. I heard Finebaum for about a week and the Auby fans wanted him gone. 2 yrs in a row now, so Malzahn's seat will always be hot w/ 3-4 regular season losses per year. Only thing saving his arse now is beating Bama, that's it.

Only thing that gives me pause with the Gus answer is that awful buyout Aubie would have to pay if they did can him.

My simple explanation for people asking why I think Harbaugh should be fired goes as follows-

The top five highest paid coaches in college include two multi time champs (Saban and Dabo), one one time champ (Jimbo), one guy who made it to the championship (Smart), and a guy who can’t even make his conference title game in Harbaugh.

Michigan may be fine with above average seasons while losing all their big games but with what they are paying him they should be winning more than that.

Jimbo is in similar territory but he is arguably having to clean up the mess left behind by Rumlin at A&M. If they are still underachieving in two years, they will be raising huge money for his buyout.
