Has special teams been problematic all year? I am thinking that gets cleaned up.

Since you're copying Oregon, , be prepared for more of that.

No, it was just that game. They decided to install a new kickoff coverage strategy last week which obviously backfired.

Not entirely true. We haven't been able to consistently kick it into the end zone and never through the back of the end zone.

Yeah that's true. For people watching the Stanford game though, they described it as "problematic". While it hasn't been amazing, it hasn't been problematic to a point where I thought that it would cost us a game if we kept it up. Our coverage was still pretty decent before the Stanford game.

Stanford gave us a problem because they can hold the edge and perimeter. Stanford has 280 pound 3-4 DEs and 260 pound OLBs with CB that are close to or are 200 pounds. Conversely, UW plays with 250 and 230 4-3 ends and the OLBs aren't even 220. If our pulling linemen get a hat on them, then we smoke their defense. Stanford could attack our blocks and stretch plays out and not get us going North/South. They just pushed our blockers into the play. UW is going to have to get behind blocks and make tackles. I don't see them holding us to less than 21.

How does Oregon deal with stuff like this? I know most of the better front 7s in the country run either a 3-4 with big OLBs or have bigger DEs. Like OSU has 2 DEs who are 255 and 285, but obviously smaller LBers than a 3-4 would run in the 230-245 range.

It seems that is what always slows Oregon down. How do you think Oregon can combat that come bowl season time or in the early season, when they have had the most trouble historically against good D-lines (more prep time etc)

Baylor.

1-8 last 9 road games. Bill Snyder is a tricky little %*($er. Revenge is some of the best motivation and these guys are backed into a corner with nothing to lose.

I will give you 2.

Oklahoma vs. Texas As crappy as Texas is and as lucky as they were to get the Iowa State win, they are 2-0 in the league and have a chance to make something out of their season.

Also, Northwestern at Wisconsin...tough job to spend yourself against Ohio State and lose, then have to turn around and go to Wisconsin.

Damn, that LSUGrad9295 guy is smart....
