1. Clemsoning
The act of delivering an inexplicably disappointing performance, usually within the context of a college football season.
Oklahoma State's overtime loss to an unranked Iowa State was a full-blown Clemsoning.

USC. FSU. Clemson. VT. WVU.

Im just throwing out teams that had an inexplicable loss in the last 10 years that cost them a shot at the NC or the conference championsh.

Clemson wasn't a threat for the NC, but they are an all time choke artist.

In addition to the previously mentioned joke known as teams from the ACC, I'd add the following:

Michigan
Wisconsin
Tennessee
Oklahoma
And I guess UGA, though I just expect Richt to lose 1-2 games that he should be nowhere close to losing.

Not sure how Oklahoma could be considered a "choke artist" all they do is win games?

Only one school has the nickname "Chokelahoma". Clemson is a close second in my book.

2011:
Ranked #1 & lose at home to a Texas Tech team that finishes 5-7 for the year.

2010:
Give up 16 pts in the 4th quarter & commit 3 turnovers in what should've been a win against Mizzou. Then, lose to the unranked Aggies after getting stopped on 3 goal-line stands while running 104 total plays....OU had been 39-0 before this loss when running more than 90 plays in a game.

2009:
Injury plagued season but should beat BYU in the opener at Jerry World

2008:
Give up 15 unanswered pts to Texas in the 4th quarter and lose the #1 ranking. Redeem themselves only to get manhandled by UF in the title game.

2007:
Ranked #4 & favored by 22 pts over unranked Colorado (who finishes the season with a losing record). Had the highest scoring team and in the nation at the time too. Blows a halftime lead, gives up 17 in the 4th and lost. Move back up to #3 only to lose to unranked Texas Tech. Move back up to #3 yet again only to be blown out by WVU (who had just lost RichRod to UM) in the Fiesta Bowl

2006:
Although the finish was controversial, OU gave up 21 4th quarter pts to Oregon in that loss. Gave up halftime lead over Texas and committed a ton of turnovers. And of course, who can forget the Fiesta Bowl loss to the Broncos which put Boise State on the map and made Stoops and OU look silly by winning with a Statue of Liberty play.

2005:
Worst season since 1999

2004:
OU gets destroyed by USC in the title game, losing 55-19

2003:
Highest scoring OU team at the time and blow through the regular season and are being hailed as possbily the greatest team ever...only to get throttled by an huge underdog in Kansas State. Somehow make their way into the title game...but Saban & LSU make sure Stoops is once again sent home without a title.

2002:
Ranked #1 and undefeated, yet lose to an unranked Aggie squad led by a freshmen QB that finished the year 6-6. Then, against an average Oklahoma State team, trailed by almost 30 points at one point and ruined their shot at another title.

2001:
Lose against Nebraska after falling for a trick play, then drop a stunner at home to a 4-7 Cowboys squad that had no business winning that game.

2000:
I can't say shite about them since this is the only year they didn't choke.

Not going undefeated every single year = choking?

Under Stoops, OU has THE best home record, one of the best records period, one of the best records vs ranked teams. Heck I think OU even has a winning record in bowl games now.

They had 2 turnovers inside the 5 yard line.

Virginia Tech easily. I can't even remember the last time they beat a good team away from Lane Stadium.

They have 2 big non home wins: in 2005 they gave WVU their only loss and in 1995 they beat Texas in the Sugar Bowl

Clemson and Oklahoma.

Michigan state deserves an honorable mention. Masters of the 6-0 start only to fade down the stretch.
