Except he hasn't the problem repeatedly, it's been the last two-thirds of one season.

My bias is BB and maybe Payton deserve to be on a top five list.

I'm guessing Carroll and Harbaugh will get a lot of love in this thread but it is worth pointing out both have benefited enormously from landing cheap but functional starting QBs. That speaks more to personnel evaluation and the skill of the GM than whatever role both play as head coaches. Anwyay, the salary cap relief has given both the 49ers and the Seahawks better depth and talent for the rest of their team.

Three years from now we'll know if they are really elite NFL coaches when they have the typical NFL salary handicap from a starting QB being paid Flacco or Ryan money.
