Which RBs would you draft over Clyde Edwards Helaire?

Im talking about among 2020 RB prospects. I'm guessing the obvious ones are Jonathan Taylor, JK Dobbins, and D'Andre Swift. Probably Najee Harris. Would you consider CEH a top 5 RB prospect at this point?

Maybe. He has that killer instinct.

Jonathan Taylor, JK Dobbins, and D'Andre Swift.

Najee Harris
A.J. Dillon I would take over him as well.

Middle rounder. He will enter the draft this year. He's peaked

He had a great game, but I think people are massively overreacting to it. Yes, that catch and run for the first down looked like James White... but James White was only a 4th round pick.

Somewhat off-topic, but CEH reminds me a lot of MJD in regards to body type and also their effectiveness in the pass game. Low center of gravity, shorter and stocky with both moves to break ankles and also power in their legs.

Is that in addition to the 4 I mentioned above?

I know how most Bama RBs turn out, but my gosh, this guy is so good. He has to be the best RB Bama has had in a while. He was catching back shoulder throws and tip toeing for completions. If they'd have just fed him, LSU had no answer defensively for him.

If I’m a scout, I want to see CEH show me that kind of performance on a consistent basis over time. He’s getting better every game and will likely continue to get better. His stats aren’t eye popping and I’m not sure about his measurables but he does a lot of things that will translate well to the NFL, blocking, blitz pickup, receiving and most obviously determination. I think he could do well in the NFL but I don’t think I could put him top 5 right now, but given time he will move up some boards.

Yea, there’s a few more too. Kid from Vandy, Moss from Utah. Eno Benjamin AZ st
CEH is prob a top 12 back or so. His size makes him more of a niche player imo. Big play ability is not there. If the right team likes him he could go 3rd-4th Rd. LSU fans are super overrating him as an nfl prospect tho. I’m not sure he ever becomes a starting level player

quote:this is a meme at this point. Outside of Richardson, even lacy was a productive back before he got fat. Ingram and Henry have been good. Especially Ingram. Jacobs looks good so far. Drake is ok.

I think the thing that will hold him back from being in an earlier round is his lack of top end speed. He has been caught from behind quite a bit. He has great acceleration to get up to his top speed quickly.
His overall speed is good enough and I think he will have a solid NFL career though.

James White was a 4th who finished his career w 4K and 6.2 ypc
CEH may get to 2kish (3 years) and will be 1.5 ypc less.

AJ Dillon - Boston College

It's amazing what confidence and a good offense can do for a player. He is a different player now and is a blast to watch. I would put him in the top 5 for sure.

He's a very Barry Sanders-esque back just doesn't do all the dancing Barry did that incurred all the lost yards, very efficient as a back

I’d take Sermon over CEH as well as those mentioned probably Akers and guy from BC. Dillon should be a good back in NFL
