As we get into the dog days of summer and football on the distant horizons, which cfb coaches does the rant think will not survive the season at their current schools. I'll go with obvious, Clay Helton at usc. Florida St may pull the trigger on taggart too if he is fighting for bowl eligibility, but it's still early in his tenure.

Clay Helton

I think both get fired mid-season and their interim replacements (Graham Harrell and Rich Rodriguez) get the permanent jobs.

Briles will make Florida states offense serviceable even with their 15th month late abortion that is an offensive line. They aren’t going to be as bad.

I could see ole miss making a change. No way the SEC goes another year blood free

I think Harbaugh gets blown out by OSU again and then gets fired before the bowl game.

Thatd be a big one. I think depends on if theres another Michigan alum out there who runs a 3 yard and a cloud of dust offense they can hire.

They had a really, really bad offseason. After his first season, I thought he would be there for 15 years.

A few more candidates:

Lovie Smith
Steve Addazio (although this would be an awful move)
Derek Mason (would also be a bad move)

Fuente brought in the best sports psych in America Dr. Kevin Elko so he is aware that something needs change

Willie will get saved because he has the second best offensive mind in college football

Helton, Sumlin are two I can see being let go.

If not for the big payday he would have been out last season without question. If the buyout was 15m he would have been gone.

Nobody is really happy with him. That said, I think plenty of us think it's possible that a "refreshed" Gus is capable of putting together a pretty potent offense this season and saving his job. But we think that knowing it's probably temporary, that even if he had a very good year he'll probably return to fricking around with whirlybird plays after he gains some security and we'll end up back in the same mediocrity.

No way Malzahn survives losses to LSU, UGA and Bama again.
And all three of those games could get ugly.

The only way that happens is if he loses to Michigan State also. But, if he still wins 9 games with losses to MSU and Ohio State he keeps his job. 9-3 by a Michigan Man keeps you employed and the MSU and Ohio State games are later in the season so he gets good hype in September and October.

We’re pretty much stuck with O for the foreseeable future. He’s recruiting well. His biggest key coming up will be replacing GOATranda.

You would think Helton but Swann has turned out to be a Goober.

I tend to agree with this, but keep in mind that this would mean Harbaugh going winless in 5 attempts in the 1st or 2nd biggest rivalry game (depending on your view) with the last two being blowouts, and against a rookie coach at that. I’m not sure even the long-suffering Michigan fans could stomach that kind of sadness.
