if it was such a big concern, he wouldnt be drafted in the 1st round.

not true at all.

he has astounding talent. if he was extremely durable and could handle tons of touches he would be a lock for a much higher draft spot.

if you miss 1 game, you are injury prone according to El Tig

Smith has missed more games per year of his career than ANY top 20 NFL receiver (that didn't cut like Bryant) this year.

he touched the ball 142 times last year and 91 times this year.

this is a pretty strong draft. He's a mid to late 1st rounder because of that, not because he had 2 migraines.

that is not much at all. DeSean Jackson touched it 95 times his last year and was not even in the backfield like Harvin. that's not many touches to always be nicked up.

pretty much another myth

he's not jerry rice, but he isnt exactly a bad WR either.

I never said he was bad, but Avery was a polished WR he ran routes well and had lots of experience. Harvin spends a lot of time not doing those things while Avery did it every snap.

the fact that you think because he missed 15 games 1 year makes him injury prone and contributes to the little "games missed per year formula" you had is AMAZING to me. one of the worst arguments ive ever read on here, and that is saying a lot.

ok, answer me this:

You are an NFL GM.

Steve Smith is a FA this year.

Do you stay away from because he is injury prone?

These are his games missed per year:

01: 1 game missed
02: 1 game missed
03: 0 games missed
04: 15 games missed
05: 0 games missed
06: 2 games missed
07: 1 game missed
08: 0 games missed

anyone can answer. Is Steve Smith injury prone? Do you stay away from him as an NFL GM because he has, on average, missed more games a year than any "top 20" WR ? With that totally obviously being swayed by a season ending injury in 2004.

No because he's proven something in the NFL. I might think differently about a first round draft pick.

He's been in the league 8 years. He's missed at least one game in 5 of those years and he's had surgery on both of his knees. In addition he is getting older which exacerbates injury risks and prolongs the number of games of missed.

I never said I wouldn't go after him, I just said he has been injured more than most other players of his caliber at his position. That's a fact.

take out 15 games in 1 season and he is on par with everyone else.

if you think he is injury prone you are just as stupid as El Tig

thats like a student getting 6 A's on his report card and bringing home 1 C and deeming that student as a "bad student".
