If any defensive player ever deserved the Heisman it was TM7

His '11 season was incredible. He played an unbelievable play in almost every game that year.

Off the top of my head:

1990 Rocket should have won over Ty Detmer
1997 Manning should have won over Woodson
2006 McFadden should have won over Troy Smith

It is a crime that Fournette wasn't even invited. Had two fewer games (3 if count having Alabama's defense) and still had very similar numbers.

He disappeared for a few games in November. Players who are actually worthy of making the trip to NY typically shine their brightest during that time. Inviting players like Fournette opens the door for inviting other players who destroyed overmatched non conference opponents early in the season before slowing way down when the competition intensified. Kalen Ballage roasted Texas Tech for 6 TDs last September. That didn't make him deserving of NY and neither was Fournette.

Rex Grossman should have won it in 2001.

2001 should have been Rex Grossman rather than the stiff liffetime award Eric Crouch.

And I believe still holds the NCAA record with at least 1 TD catch in 18 straight games.

All it took to "shut him down" against Miami was the total attention of two future pro bowlers in the secondary and a third at linebacker who was prepared to mug him any where near the middle of the field.

The anti-DMac bias was always mindblowing to me knowing your Hawgs just straight up hiked it to the kid, everyone KNEW it was coming, and still couldn't stop it.

He got off to a bad start in his best chance year (2006) by getting his dick absolutely kicked in by USC (which were the darlings at that time).

What about Joey Harrington?

Wasn't 81 when he had the broken thumb though and split time?

I can argue that Troy Edwards should have won it over Ricky Williams.

But, Edwards played for Louisiana Tech and Williams played for Texas. Edwards never had a chance without the notoriety and when Williams broke the NCAA single-season record.

Talk about a crime. Edwards wasn't even invited.
