Spinoff from the WR thread. What are some instances where you think the Heisman voting got it wrong?

If we are truly picking the best player

Suh and Tyrann both should have won it.

Larry Fitgerald might be the worst Heisman snub in my lifetime, so the last 25 years.

Neither Brees or Fitzgerald were the best players that year. Jason White was shredding teams.

McFadden should have won it his Senior year by stats but very hard to argue over Smith as a Junior or Tebow as a Senior

RG3 deserved it in 11

Edit:
The only two that should not have happened IMO was Woodson over Manning and Eddie George over Frazier.

Yeah, there's not a close second.

I have not really paid the Heisman any attention the last 10-15 years, so I really can't offer much insight in to the recent past.

I am obviously biased but imo the Manning/Woodson year the wrong guy won. Manning was anointed the winner as soon as he announced he was coming back for his senior year and the fatigue was too much. As soon as he lost to Florida the national media began searching for somebody else to try and give it to. No one really stuck until Woodson and the Ohio State game won it for him. Manning's numbers on an SEC Champion Tennessee team were incredible.

Obviously Woodson was a great player but I think there have been many better defensive players than him who have not sniffed it. His ST/offensive numbers were very pedestrian as well but he had a few big plays on national TV and sealed it.

Rocket Ismail losing to Detmer may be somewhat questionable also, but Detmer had a great year and them beating Miami in Provo was huge.

Christian McCaffrey should have won it over Derek Henry.

Ryan Leaf and Florida kept Manning from winning that year. Leaf's stats were essentially identical to Manning. Then, once Manning and Tennessee were beaten by 2 touchdowns and went 0-4 against Florida, he wasn't getting it.

If you didn't want Woodson, whatever. Fine. My next pick would be to give it to Randy Moss.

I wasn't crazy about Crouch getting it after being destroyed by Colorado, but whatever.

I want to say Vince Young > Reggie Bush, but Bush had an incredible year as well.

I thought Ndamakong Suh and Tyrann Mathieu both should have won it .

It is a crime that Fournette wasn't even invited. Had two fewer games (3 if count having Alabama's defense) and still had very similar numbers.
