Oil it up, wrap it, roll over onto it with your truck.

I've never tried baby oil. It will probably hurt the leather. The they have stuff at sporting goods stores that keeps the leather nice that I've heard some people have good luck with. Catcher's gloves are the hardest to get just right from my experience. Even with oil, it will take a few days of playing catch. I had a hard time dumping the old one for a new one in HS.

Steam that glove - some stores will do it for free when you buy a glove from them.

There used to be glove oil made just for this. I used to rub it up with glove oil, put a ball in it, put 2 belts around it, tight.

the oil is called neatsfoot oil. keep the glove wrapped a few days. then play lots of pitch and catch with it.

If you're buying a glove that's more than $100 don't put it in the oven or steamer. Just throw with it a lot or use a ball mallet.

Youtube Aso breaks in a glove. He's an Asian guy that works for Wilson and breaks in Brandon Phillips glove for him.

How Aso does it.

I did my sons Mizuno Pro Model like this minus the hot water and it came out great. Get an excercise dumbell and bang away.

To break in one of the most important thingz in baseball you have to put it where you sleep. Even glove makers know baseball is so boring it leads to sleep

I'm old school so I'm going to say just use it a lot. Bought my 14 year old an A2000 for Christmas and we just threw with it A LOT. When we were done, he would put a ball in the pocket and a few rubber bands around it. It wasn't too stiff to begin with but it only took a couple of weeks for it to be completely broken in. Forget all the oils and baking it. It's not needed and I don't believe it's good on the glove. All any glove needs is hard work!

We always used the shite on the left in this pic for gloves (baseball and softball). Wrap it up with the oil for a few days and then it's simply just breaking it in.

Depends what postion he plays but whatever you do, please don't bend the pinky and thumb in toward the palm. I've seen too many gloves ruined this way.

Edit: I also don't recommend oils. It makes the glove lose its rigidness.
