Rakim Jarrett takes the cake by far, he'll have to transfer to salvage a career. All bc he wanted to spite LSU for not taking his dumbass cousin

This is ridiculous. If you’re good enough to play in the NFL you will play in the NFL. It isn’t 1975. Everyone is on tv, everyone gets noticed. Quarterbacks from South Dakota St. and Utah St. became first round picks in the last few years.

Stefan Diggs and DJ Moore both played WR at Maryland. Same as Jarrett

Marshall was his only option. FSU and ND (I think) refused to admit him based on criminal stuff during his HS years.

Maryland was competitive when they went there. Now it's getting blown out every week and not even putting up numbers in garbage time.

DT Ed Oliver signing with Houston in 2016 is the most recent.
Southern Miss signed receiver DeAndre Brown in 2008.
Louisville signed RB Michael Bush in 2003.

Oliver I believe had an older brother on Houston's team and a former high school coach on staff

Brown I think wasn't going to qualify at major schools or was worried he wouldn't.

Bush was from Louisville, they were a good program coming up at the time, and Petrino promised him he could play QB

Maryland’s record during Diggs’ 3 years was 4-8, 7-5, 7-5. They never won more than 4 total conference games (won 4 in 1 season) in any of his 3 years at Maryland

Nice try

Can't believe no one has said Calvin Johnson to GA Tech.

Darren McFadden also didn't take a single visit to any other school. Was a parade all american 5 star unless I'm mistaken.

Arkansas could be considered up there.

He got to play with Reggie Ball. That's big time.

He went to FSU but was forced to red shirt. Then ended up at Marshall.

Almost every high recruited player that went to a small school is going have some * to why

ok no compare those and the margin of defeats to what's happening now. They aren't even scoring in garbage time

Dante Culpepper to UCF and D-Rob to Cal are the two that come to mind first.

Read this carefully - THEY HAVE LITERALLY PLAYED 1 TOTAL GAME THIS SEASON.

They averaged 25 points per game last year.

I don’t know about football but Larry Bird giving Bob Knight the double bird and taking ISU to the championship game has to be the all timer in college.

Didn’t he go there for a little bit and was overwhelmed by it?

I think OP is looking for highly recruited players who went to smaller schools without an *, like Ed Oliver. There just aren't many of them at all.
