What is the success rate for 5-stars in the pros?Note: Data only concerns the 201 5-star recruits from 2002-2008 that left school before the 2013 season. This was done for reasons of completeness, as the later classes have too many rookies and/or players still in school.

Someone who doesn’t know how stats work will tell you that stars don’t matter because there’s a large number of 3 star players in the league

If you are a 5-star talent, it is for plenty good reason. There are thousands upon thousands of high school seniors. Out of that extremely high number, only about 30 (rough guesstimate) will be rated as a 5-star player. That is very significant.

Anyone who has played high school ball probably thought they were the shite. If you ever played or competed against someone with 5-stars you will be humbled really fast.

Lmao this is so true. Star rankings don't matter because player x was a 2 star and now he's a Pro Bowler. Ok so one or two 2 stars made the Pro Bowl out of the tens of thousands who are 2 star or lower per year. That's not very good odds.

20% of 5 stars start in nfl career.

Less than 1 percent of 2 stars make it to nfl.

Every college program in the country would take all 30 five stars in the country and call it a day.

I bet many NFL teams would as well rather than draft.

Probably a better shot at being a c student millionaire than a 2 star NFL starter. By a pretty wide margin.

Einstein failed math once! And bill gates dropped out of college!

Ignoring that the test Einstein flunked was in French, not his native language, and he did fine on the math portion. A test he took when he was 16 and about to graduate high school. And that bill gates dropped out of Harvard to cofound Microsoft.

28% drafted in the first two rounds is pretty damn good.

That is hilarious when I hear people use that line. Bill Gates dropped out in order to start one of the most profitable companies of all time. You are dropping out to become an assistant supervisor at Wendys. Not close to being the same.

While that's true to some extent it's not exactly fair

When Brown and Shepard did play In college they showed several examples of great potential they just didn't play a lot for various reasons

Compare that with someone like Brent Schaffer (I recongnize he Was not a 5*) or A.J. Suggs who played a good bit and college but proved to suck (Suggs less so) so they didn't get drafted
