What’s the rationale for “rigging” a KC win?

Let me pre-empt with KC absolutely seemed to get officiating help. But why?

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Because the NFL hates LSU and Burrow played for LSU, and they needed to keep the Chiefs train rolling to make the AFC Championship game look believable.

How so? Philly is not a small market team

I don't believe the game was rigged, I just believe the ref sucked and made a terrible call that shouldn't have been made.

Betting odds, branding Mahomes as the next multiple SB winner after a huge generational shift in QBs the last two-three years.

Said it in the other thread. Most money on eagles. NFL gets sponsor money from all these online betting firms. They make money, nfl makes money.

I think the obvious answer is now that Brady is gone the nfl needs a new GOAT.

If it's all rigged then it's like wrestling. There's long term storylines and many different factors, you don't just have the obvious choice every time. And also because something is fiction doesn't mean the writing has to be good and logical.

Then why not let Burrow win and create a manning vs Brady type scenario?

Because Hurts isn’t a black QB and isn’t just as good of a story?

Mahomes is the current golden boy ala Peyton or Brady.

Mahomes. NFL marketing.

More bets were on the Eagles. That’s all
I’ve got.
I’ve got.

It’s not financially necessary to rig the Super Bowl winner. You’re already watching the game. Only makes sense to rig playoff games and games that decide who gets into the playoffs. In this case, the refs just made an unfortunate call.

Hurts is TOO black. Mahomes has a white parent and thus is more "acceptable" to the American public at large.
It's science.

Because Mahomes is light skin and we got to gradually work into dark skin super bowl wins.

quote:That shite bores most people and Goodell knows it. He’ll virtue signal for it all day long, but he knows winning quarterbacks are the ones that sell tickets. Before tonight, there were three combined Super Bowl wins among active NFL starting QBs, and nobody had more than one. Compare that with 2013, when there were eleven combined SB wins, with three multiple-time winners.
Because Hurts isn’t a black QB and isn’t just as good of a story?
