If this were the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, EPL, PGA, minor league baseball, or numerous other leagues that have a playoff not based on opinion, this discussion would be seen as ridiculous. Why not try to make college football more like that?
Heck, I think the Saints were one of the top 4 NFL teams last year. If a lot of other people thought that and then demanded they got put in the four-team playoff at the end of the year, we'd be mocked.

Exactly. We don't even have complete data. "Best four teams" isn't meaningful the way major college football is currently structured.

Y'all made the playoff and would have been picked to make the playoff had there been a committee.

I don’t think the CFP was ever all about conference champions.
They sorta made that excuse to pick between a 1 loss OSU and 2 1 loss Big 12 Co-Champs
But historically there have been lots of instances were the top 4 teams contain multiple teams from the same conference.

I think we can all agree that if this current dynasty Alabama is in the midst of were happening at LSU, you'd be defending LSU's inclusion in the rematch in 2011 and in the playoffs last year.
The only reason why any of you are bitching is because this is a rival school that's doing all of this. That alone invalidates your argument.

And FWIW I think Last year y’all definitely should have been in, and 2011 was BS because you didn’t have a better record than OSU just a better loss and blue blood
