to 8 in a row!

Good game. Our lines still have a long ways to go to compete with you guys, which surprised me. Your D-Line annihilated us. Our defense actually played surprisingly well considering the good field position our offense kept giving you.

I watched the first half and really enjoyed the defensive battle as a change but I have zero interest in seeing that again for my NC game. I think it's lame the QB's aren't even given the ball to try and make a play. Luckily (pun intended) we get Stanford/Oregon next Saturday to treat the nation with Touchdowns and a lack of elite D.

I don't hate offense, I just love defense. It was nice to see a couple of elite defenses going against each other yesterday. The thing is that their offenses aren't terrible like the game showed, their defenses are just that good. It wouldn't surprise me to see the Oregon/Stanford game turn become similar to the Oregon/Auburn game last year where everybody is expecting a shootout and we get a relatively low scoring game.

They don't have to "out scheme" teams and use all sorts of misdirection and fakes to beat them. They just hold them to under 10 points and pound them on offense.

Scheming is part of the game...just like in Chess - setting your opponent up. This happens in EVERY sports. There are no gimmicks in sports!

You have two end zones; the object is to score. By any means necessary.

If a team can't handle misdirection or fakes (which have been in the sport since the very beginning btw) then they aren't good enough. Simple as that. They lack in the most important part of the game...tactics. They might have muscle but no brain.

Remove tactics from the sport and you might as well watch pig wrestling.

There's no such thing. Strategically you do whatever it takes to move your team down the field and win
Most of those types of offenses rely on a high number of possesions in order to succeed. So strategically, ball control offenses like LSU and Bama limit those opportunities.

Time of possession.....
Oregon and Ok St: 116 and 120 out of 120 teams.
LSU, Stanford, Bama: 10,11,15.

Also, its not coincidence that Kansas State, which leads the nation in TOP, took them to the wire. Ok St averages 80 plays per game. KSU held them to a season low 63.

I don't have the confidence in our D for that and I know ther D doesn't have Nick Fairley or Cameron Heyward. Last year we could count on the D to get takeaways (amd we picked Luck off a few times) but not this year. Not a recipe for low scoring IMO. Our WR's are terrible this year though. We really need De'Ant in the slot more.
