Nah, I'd say baseball over basketball. And I think football = baseball, or maybe has a slight edge

How can anyone who says baseball justify their answer over the other two?

Which requires instinct, not "smarts".

I do think that overall, football requires more use of brain power, but a lot of football is listening to play calls and instinct.

Of course you think that basketball is more mental than baseball. I'm sure you probably haven't picked up a baseball since after Little League (if even then).

I can't see how baseball could be equal to football at all. It just seems like there is so much to remember in football and you have to be able to process all the information faster.

Take your average gpa or test scores at nearly all levels of those sports and it will be higher in baseball. Baseball situations change nearly every pitch.

but i also said overall football requires more. but some of the arguments have been because if changes during the play which require instinct, totally different than brain power.

well there are some changes that are schematic and require a memorization of a bigger playbook and more mental gymnastics

like if a WR shifts to 1 side and your man-zone flips and players have to rotate, or changing from man to zone based on formation, and then changing back once there is motion. baseball has none of these sorts of examples

I could coach a baseball team and beat a dumb team every time. The same probably can't be said in football. A bunch of big athletic kids can simply run over you in football.

Having a higher gpa means nothing when playing sports. This is like saying you need a masters degree to be a good welder. Someone with little education can have the skills to be the best welder in the world.

There is more time in baseball to process the situation. Maybe the reason why baseball players have a higher gpa is because they are smart enough to play a game that will earn them just as much money as other games with more risk involved.

Does this statement apply on the professional level as well?

Only a pitcher. The rest you can get to make stupid mistakes that will cost them the game.

Not so much. The talent is more even. That's the reason Saban went back to the college game....not because that is where the braniacs were. Simply out talent them and run over them. Hell it works for Les most of the time.

I would take the dumb athletic kids every time and just become a strong offensive team. The more athletic team would be better hitters so if they can simply catch a fly ball, I'd take them over your group of nerds.
