The Masters thread includes the statement that this week is the best week in sports for the thread-starter.
I am guessing that few share that point of view.
For me its the first week of the NCAA mens D-1 basketball tournament.
So here are my nominees. Let us know which is your favorite sports "week". it does not have to be exactly 7 days. Masters is actually 4 days, and the par 3 contest is another day.
1. World Series. That was my favorite growing up.
2. Basketball Jones 1 NBA finals
3. Basketball Jones 2 NCAA mens D-1 first week, when the teeny conferences are still alive and some actually win. Sorry Missouri fans.
4. Football. America's game (1). NFL 2nd playoff weekend. The big boys are in action.
5. Football America's game 2 bowl week in College football.
this includes the big bowls, the BCS champ game, and whatever bowl "your" team is in that year.
6. World Cup soccer. (1) the first rounds, when all teams are still alive.
7. World Cup soccer (2) the semi's and finals
8. The Olympics summer: "synchronized swimming" (not so much) LOL! , womens' beach volleyball. track I love olympic track.
9. The Olympics winter mens' hockey, ice dancing and ripping down the mountain.
10. Wimbleton fortnight of tennis. If this is your choice, Do you only watch the hotties or do you actually watch the semi's between two mannish women, one from Central Europe who is an O-T 3 and is 6 2, and one from France, obviously with the ghey, and such interesting muscles you wonder if she hits the steroids.
12. Oops. Nearly forgot. Masters golf. (repressed this answer due to the FACT of its racist "club" membership). I actually appreciate the notion of a men's club. Let women have their own place to be with women.
As an event, the Masters fails for me due to the glass greens.
13. The open championship of golf ie British.
14. added regular season college football.
15. added conference championship weekend in college football, which includes SEC championship and learning which teams play which in the bowls, including the BCS champ game. This is maybe my favorite nowadays.
16.
17. bowling.
18.. big oops. left out motor sports.
I am with the folks who are picking a time of the year when there are multiple sports.
If I left out your sport/week, go for it.
Name your favorite WEEK in sports.

College football with a lot of mid-week TV games. Two years ago there was a stretch of 8 days with games. From Sat. to the next Sat.

I started a thread on this topic a couple months ago. I'm a huge tennis, football, and baseball fan so the obvious answer for me is the first week of the NFL season. There's US Open tennis, the start of the NFL season, college football, and the stretch run of the baseball season where teams are jockeying to get into the playoffs. It's all of my favorite sports wrapped into one tidy, beautiful package.

You realize it's their favorite sports week not just because of the masters, right? You have the final four, opening day, and the masters all in about one week.
That's why this is my favorite sports week

You seriously enjoy pro sports more than college sports? I didn't know those people existed?

Any week with NBA and NHL playoff games + MLB

Roughly October 20 to 27th, 2012 - you get the World Series and the meat of the CFB schedule with Week 8 (usually games like USC/Notre Dame v. PSU v. Michigan; LSU v. Auburn, Oregon v. Washington, Mizzou v. Nebraska, Michigan v. Iowa, Bama v. Tennessee.)

What? There are millions of people who prefer pros over college sports. There are a multitude of reasons why I prefer pro sports.

and NFC and AFC championships. Those games are usually better than Super-bowls

This.
Plus the middle rounds of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
This week is no big deal to me. I find televised golf unwatchable, and I haven't been an MLB fan since the strike.

The World Cup is just too special to not be my #1.

Second week of the US Open (tennis)
Wimbledon is great, but something about watching the world's best play under the lights in the biggest tennis stadium in the world in the biggest city in America just gets me fricking pumped.
